        • had my weekly trip into ravenworks this morning and things are looking good. the porting looks AWESOME on the head so much smoother than before and we were able to make a parts list to order up so i am just waiting on OGTS to confirm my order. I am hoping to have everything ship before the weekend since if not that would lead a tuesday shipping. either way things are moving forward!

              • thanks guys!

i just was on the phone with OGTS out in california talking about what to buy for the motor and ordered up everything for the build. feels awesome the one everything is actually coming together and two the customer service offered by the companies that supply parts for this car is out of this world. after years of dealing with companies no emailing you back and stealing your credit card info it is great to find service again.

big big thanks to the guys over at Opel GT Source (OGTS) for being so awesome!

                    • What's up I would be the Manta he is referring to.

Glad to hear it's coming along! I got my motor in last night only to find out that the GT bell housing is different than the Manta and now I have to pull the transmission.

                      keep it up!

                      • looks like i have to buy pistons, steve just called me from ravenworks and he noticed while taking the rings off of one of the pistons there was a chunk missing between the the rings. at least we have a good idea as do where the oil consumption was coming from but this means that we are going to have to bore out the block a little and i have to buy a set of pistons.

                        i am thinking 12:1... hehe

Damn dude that sucks. On the other hand you get a better engine in the end this way.

                            • got a little bit done today, not as much as i would have liked but my back went out on me while i was under the dash pulling the last of the wiring out of the bay. I have a horrible back from my years of being on tour racing snowboards so this is kind of par for the course but it still sucks. the wiring in the car is so haggard that i have just decided to replace all of it and build my own wiring harness.

figured since it is basically going to be an extra month before my engine is done because i have to wait on pistons that i'll have time to get it done.

i am also pretty sure the car has been hit around the passenger headlight at one point in its life given how wrinkly it is under there but paint and body work is for next winter and i have to decide if i just want to buy another shell of try and salvage this one. i am thinking the former...

                              • That sucks that the wiring needs to be redone. Good thing you have lots of time. Those pistons sure are perty!
