        • Hey cheers for the great comments Chaps much appreciated

With the Turbo around 160-180BHP to begin with, however with some more work (Hybrid T3/T25, Piston oil spray bars & some electronic boost control) 200-230 is easily achievable with these engines, gearbox won't be happy though and I will be wanting an LSD with that an all

Just curious, I know a lot of people like to weld differentials. What's the advantage of an LSD over welded interiors?

            • Welded diffs are for RWD cars only who want to get a better take off from a standing start so the rear wheels are locked together and cannot spin at a different speeds.

so why do I only hear about drifters doing it?

                • its not just for RWD cars, many people do it in race cars even for front wheel drive. It is a lot harder to drive when its welded, you will have to fight the steering wheel more. No recommended for street tho.

yeah when you weld the diff on a fwd with high horsepower, don't you have to fight torque steer more? And I would think race cars would want an LSD with a tuned ratio for better performance. I asked one of my buddies and he said that drifters want their diffs to be 100% locked up otherwise when it slips, you get a fraction of a second of traction and that can be enough to blow the run.

                      • ...I, what where the pic/insult go?!

No real update on the car I am afraid. She will have a rest from the molest, because I am going back to School in December to learn TIG, so the plan is to buy a welder in the new year and set up a modest machine shop in my Mums old garage which my late Father used to build bespoke hardwood furniture in.
Unfortunately the car will not fit in the garage but I do plan to fill it with aswell as the TIG, a sand blaster, spray booth, turning lathe/spinning lathe+polishing mops and a brake press, then produce muchos works of Art!

Latest shot , happy with the edit

                        • Well sadly it is time to say goodbye to this little motor! She has done me well enough but it is time for a change! 3 out of the 4 arches have split on the inner lip causing a lot of rust to appear quickly as I live by the sea, the engine is smoking like a mofo now so I have decided to part it out, buy a pedastrian car and run that for a year or two whilst saving up for one of my top three choices which are : MK1 Toyota MR2, FC RX7 and probably top of the list Porsche 944 Turbo! I maybe back on stancewoks one day as I would love to put one of those on air ride as lets face it, static is a complete c*nt lol

                          • Damn, sad to see the little ferrari go.

I remember browsing on S/W back when I was in a 3d animation class and stumbled apon this when the thread was just getting started. It's one of the reasons why I joined later that same year and put my car on here. I love strange cars like this.

I hope you get a 944 turbo and do your thing with it. Even if it looks half as good as this car I know that it will still be one hell of a neck breaker.

                            • Cheers Bro appreciate the sentiment. I am happy I managed to change a few peoples opinions on these oddball cars and did it justice! Although it does sadden me that still to this day some still get riced out to fuck in a bad way! Just could not justify chucking more dollar at Her. Parting it out should get me halfway to a 944 at least.
