Oh man, my uncle had a 944 turbo when I was 3 years old. I miss that thing. It was sooo mint. Still love this car.

It stops and handles like a weapon, but 8v 944 isnt known for power, even a UK spec is under 170 bhp.
Big power will come, but for now-

    a remapped chip-

    Cone filter-

    And for better feel-

Also removed the balance belt. It feels quite quick now, well a lot better anyway.

I needed some coilovers, cut springs are not for me, also the MOT man didnt like them..
I got the factory option KONI MO30 coilovers, they transformed the drive.

    Tired turbo/s2 struts off-

    MO30 Koni coilovers

Progressive springs, adjustable damping/height and uprated top mounts.

    Blessing the BTR.

Just need to find matching rear shocks.

Found a set, so outed the O.Z
Azevs are cool but need to lose the 265 on the back!
They came from a 930 turbo.

The wheels will need to go soon as they are a bitch to look after. Ok for a show queen car for taking pics but no good for real life.
Another issue is the spacers, i see spacers as a bodge and also the hubs had to be modded to accept the spacers - im not doing that to the turbo hubs.

Also on piston heads i found some 944 turbo brembo calipers front and rear with hubs seemed like a good deal.
But i later found i had to replace all of the link pipes and the nipples, 2 of them were broken off.
After sorting the calipers i notice one of the front wheel bearings needs replacing - i trusted this guy!
Once fitted i find the Discs are warped!..new discs.

The 1985 struts dont fit the hubs so 86 items needed (must be 86 as later cars have angled top mount for 52mm offset)

    Needed these too

All together with new link pipes, ill paint them when they are on.

As they are 911 seats, the rear doesnt fit and mine doesnt match.

There is a cage going in, so i made this.

I Cut the armrest from the rear seat, cleaned aera, used the original speaker wires from rear speakers int the qtrs (they reached uncut)

Errr... just noticed its not fitted in this pic

Will do until I find a matching lower rear seat.

Original seats were pinstripe, and buggerd.

So i bought some 964 turbo Recaro seats in porsche cloth, elec and heated from a low miles LHD-

The were expensive, but a must!

    ALL CHANGES HERE

So I went out for a new door as mine was damaged by the handle, the door was going to be removed from a black shell - it was far bteer than mine and I knew I had to have it.
A later shell,, it only had a front screen and rear beam left on it, but it looked mint and had documents!
I was going to transfer as much as i could from the 85 car to the 86 car.
I was wrong to attempt this, almost everything was different, brake lines routed different, loom, battery location, seat mounts, the list goes on and on.
Porsche realy developed this car in 86, losing many of the VAG parts (door handles being one).
I stripped my car (in pic) and bought the other parts from the breaker.
Alloy trailing arms, interoir trim, loom, brake and fuel lines, plastic tank, sunroof mech ect..
The parts were Very cheap as most were exchanged for my early parts, plus he cut me a deal for buying the shell.
    - it was a lucky find.

16" turbo rims were lent to me to sit it on.

Looking like a car again, saved from the crusher..
This engine was also from the breaker, he had a low miles automatic with a P/S/history so i px this for my high miles one and bought a clutch & fly wheel.

From car the 85 car i only used rear valance, gear lever, s/wheel, petrol flap, front legs/ brakes, wheels, rear calipers and no plate lights.
