    This, that, and the other.

So I have been making a lot of progress lately. I have been doing all the necessary modifications to make my dual carbs fit and function. One of those mods was to cut the "stove" off the stock exhaust manifold and weld in a plate. Not only does this make it perform much better but allows it to clear the carburetors. My friend Curt_PNW did the welding and it was tricky. It was mild steel onto cast iron but with patience and some nickel 99 rod he made it work.

Anyway here is the photos the motor should be in by this weekend.

Modified my thermostat housing today to clear the side draft manis with the help of my good friend Curt_PNW. He did the TIG welding for me. I just need to work on the exhaust manifold now.

    More progress soon.

I just finished ordering the remaining air fittings that I need, so rear bags are imminent.

So my good friend delivered these to me today.

Might do some welding tomorrow might not. I need to prep the new motor for paint since it's lime green. We'll see.

So I decided to get off my ass today and make some real progress. I spent this morning pulling the sad, worn out engine. It has been running on about 2 cylinders lately so I figured it was time. I ran into some interesting situations but overall it went smooth. In fact it got really smooth when I leaked all my transmission fluid on the floor . Anyway I have a rebuilt engine That is waiting to go in but needs to be repainted.

    The new motor is
    1.9 L CIH
    Bored .050 over
    High compression pistons
    Isky racing cam
I put a nice little peek of engine plans at the bottom for those of you that like the teasers.

    More progress soon

I think because of the stepped lips those aren't 13 inch wheels anymore ^.

But at least they were in a tad better shape than your ones, if I might say OpelWagenGT. ^^
I've moved on to 9x15 exips, and waiting for 80/70mm lowering kit, so that i can redeem myself.

But keep up the good work, and keep it clean!

Also considering to go for widened original rims, looks awesome.
Had this bad boy visit me last summer.
i thought about doing that with the my GT wheels but i think the car needs 15s

nice borbets. are you gonna restore them yourself? post detailed pics of the work on those wheels.
Thanks! I'm going to visit Cascade Wheel Repair tomorrow since they are right by my house. I want to get their opinions and possibly a quote on what they would charge to fix them. There is one small bend that I will definitely have fixed professionally. Anything I will do myself I will.

I just can't run 17's because of my plans for suspension. I wouldn't be able to get low enough.

And I can guarantee that I got mine for way cheaper because of the damage . Just get that suspension in line, or go off roading.

    So here they are

    16x7.5
    ET 30
    4x114.3
I'm looking at getting 25mm adapters which will make them +5 offset
2 out of 4 wheels are not bad and the other two need some work.
I have been lusting after these wheels ever since I saw some and for the price I couln't pass these up.

My buddy had a set of 17"s (!) on his. A tad too big, so I hope you got some smaller ones.

Yeah those are definitely donk status. And yes I got some Borbet type A's that are 16x7.5 4x114.3 et 30. I got them for a super deal but they all need work on the lips. I am going to need adapters obviously too. I'm hoping I can still lay it out when the air ride is done though since they are going to be 7.5 inches wide +5 offset with the adapters. I'm probably going to need to roll some fender.
