    New hardware

I need to make some custom upper a-arms that will clear the 6" diameter air bag.
So I ran some errands today first off was Everett Steel Co. where I picked up 8ft of 1" OD .095 wall thickness tube for 7 bucks. They didn't have 1.125" like I had originally planned to use so I went with 1"

Then I stopped at Tacoma screw to get some heim joints. I brought an upper a-arm stud a for sizing. The 1/2" bore was just a tad too big so I opted for the 5/8" since it fits over the metal sleeves that go inside the stock bushings.

here is a photo of someone else custom control arm. This is pretty much what I'm doing minus the custom lower arm.

    More progress pics soon.

So thanks to a good friend of mine I picked up this pile of goodies for $20 bucks tonight!

some 1/2", 1/4", and even some 1/8" line. Also a good assortment of fittings

every bit is one step closer.

So I know I haven't posted in a while but I have made some progress. Since this is my daily, I also have many other hobbies, and I don't have a wage that supports lots of spending I make progress very slow.

I have however removed the front bumper and supports, in there place are some home built directional signals.

And I installed a fiberglass GT-E front lip.

I believe since I last posted I chopped a bit off the front springs and move the shocks to the lower position.

I took it out for a shoot the other day and decided to do a little photoshop to give me motivation to get this project going. Come spring time I have a freshly rebuilt 1.9L going in with dual Weber 40s, headers, isky cam, high comp pistons, and bored .05 over.

    Enjoy, more photos to come.
    as it sits now

    photoshop

You just reminded me that I forgot to make a to-do list.

Headers with 2" pipe and single muffler
Dual Carbs on the stock motor for a while (I have a different motor for later)
    fiberglass GTE front air dam
    13/7 ARE wheels
Not sure what tires yet was thinking a 185/60/13
Universal Air bag over shock bags for the front
    Compressor
    Lines
    Fittings/valves/gauges
    Install sound system
    Mount up back seat

yes the bumpers were only offered in the US but every Manta before 1974 came with the small bumpers you guys keep calling "Euro" bumpers.

The shifter is temporary not sure what I want long term.

I **** to say it but I am not messing with the bumpers. At least not for now. According to every other Manta owner I have talked to they make the car pretty invincible. Also those aren't Euro bumpers they are just pre-1973 1/2.

oh and these are in the mail on their way to my house right now.

    WTF those bumpers.

Please, try to get a set of euro bumpers.

They make the car look SO much more elegant.

Other than that, this looks like it's off to a great start and could be really promising!
