Last night we got the Lower dash mounted with the dzus buttons, front rotors assembled, and caliper set in position.
This setup looks so beefy in person!

I was at the racetrack helping out with a few cars most of the day, but good progress was still made!
I ate some kfc at the track..

Then cut off the old brake tabs, welded on the new ones, cleaned and regreased all the bearings, and took a lot of time making the front hubs look nice. You wouldnt believe how much old grease and stuff was baked on after being driven for 20+ years

Also sprayed them with a semigloss black for the time being

Sat the front bumper up to see how it fits for the intake system routing..I love how far back the radiator is, it looks awesome to me

HUGE K&N filter just peeking out...

I bought a 4" 45* section last week,, and I was able to make that work on its own with the help of a couple rubber elbows
This was the first mock up.

Its gonna look so mean dragging this bumper sideways!

The finished product

The bracket to support the intake

Tomorrow should be a similar deal as far as work goes

Well, today started much like yesterday, I went to the track early to help out with some teammates cars since i'm not driving. Both cars i was watching over ran 2 practice sessions clean and were ready to roll into the heat races. My friend Noah started the heat in the 3rd row, and stayed in the top 5 for the first 3 laps, then i didnt see him cross the line.
The configuration the Legends ran this weekend involved a 5th gear sweeper. Last season I was clocked at 136mph in a draft with another car at the end of the sweeper before downshifting to 2nd for a hairpin. Anyways, Noah came into the hairpin and the throttle stuck, while the brakes also went bad at the same time (no idea how). He hit a dirt embankment at about 90, jumped his car about 10 ft in the air, flipped 3 times, then it caught on fire briefly. He walked away from this with a sore elbow..
Heres a pic he sent me, as well as what he put on instagram. These are just still shots from his gopro:

Thats a 4ft fence well underneath him

The car will be ready to run next weekend
Back to the rx7..
I disassembled the rear cv's and got them all cleaned up

Rear axle in the car:

The axles are 300m units made for a Porsche 911. The splines happen to be exactly the same.
The rear looks like it's ready for battle

I messed around with my rear diffuser that I made a couple weeks ago..

Then did a lot of work to the exhaust, should be able to fully knock it out tomorrow... In case you're wondering, I'm running a side-dump boomtube setup with no muffler. This particular unit came from Roush Yates, made for a NASCAR sprint cup car.

Once I fit my BN skirts I may shorten this up..

Also re-did the BBK headers for better fitment

The intake is fully finished now:

Expect the exhaust to be finished tomorrow amongst other things..
