  • Thank you. Where did you source it from? Did you buy it online or do hardware stores carry them?

The car is VERY DOPE. Your current turbo project is making me all nostalgic of when I did mine.

    Peep the build!

I just went on their canadian website and ordered it from there. It happened that the canadian distributor is a body shop supply store just here on the south shore of Montreal. So shipping was cheap and fast! If I can make some recommendations for you:
1- Buy the starter kit, it gives you the cleaner and the surface preparation solution, plus the paint, a brush and most importantly, gloves.
2- If you buy some more, buy the small cans. They get hard to close right after being opened once, and you need to put a saran wrap under the lid and wrap it in a ziploc bag to prevent it from drying.
3- DON'T GET ANY ON YOUR SKIN

And thanks for saying that its VERY DOPE I don't know why, I just love saying that.

      • Ok, so I had my piping welded at work. I wanted a shiny brushed finish, so I hit all the pipes with a scotch brite pad, making sure all the grain was perpendicular to the tube. Even in the bends... Hahaha sometimes I wonder why I work slowly.

Then I hit them with polishing compound, and I wrapped them in plastic wrap until they get installed.

Yesterday my friend came over with his MIG, we worked on the downpipe for a bit...

Unfortunately we messed up with one of the angles, had problems with the machine, so at the end of the day we only had this:

        Next weekend we can finish.

And tonight I installed some piping, the DV, vacuum lines, etc... Notice the reference port for the wastegate is under the pipe, this way you cannot see it :P

It should run next week... I really hope so...

        • Downpipe still isn't done (school got into our way a little), BUT...

          The transition piece is made

Also while there was no downpipe I wanted to see if I could change some shifter bushing that I didn't do last year. The bolts heads were su rusted they were conical... I got the piece out.

          Rebuilt...

Then I aligned the linkage with the aligning tool I had laser-cut, it shifts way better now! It even allowed me to set the shift reduction to 50%. I couldn't do it before because I couldn't find the gates lol.

          Also..

          First start, not really successful

Wires 3 and 4 were misplaced on the distributor

          Second start

That turbo needs a rebuild baaaad. Good thing I got a rebuild kit on hand.
Also, my welder friend promised me he was going to help me on friday for the downpipe, then I rebuild the turbo saturday and sunday I got for a ride
