Little content for these photos. When I welded my catch can AN fittings to the cover I was plagued with the casting creating pin holes in the aluminum. I loved the polished cover, but the pin holes would forever annoy me..... so I didn't know what to do. Luckily I have been working occasionally on the set for overhaulin and Mark Oja was taking about a guy who color sanded a whole powder coated car. I figured it would be worth a shot for the cover, it could fill the holes and look decent. I did four base coats and it filled the holes nicely, plus one clear. Additionally, I lightly color sanded it to knock down the big orange peel. Pretty happy with the results.

Read the entire thread in 2 days and absolutely love all of it. Not quite sure what I can add, what hasn't already been said:
but this is by far my favorite read i've seen on here. I too thought at first that it was looking somewhat like a hackjob, but your effort really paid off.
You work improved immensely and what a final product! You should be proud.
To add, this was all done in a home garage and on the driveway. Friggin awesome!

Your personal progression in this thread was worth the read, going from fiberglass to the MK1 fenders, your welding skills, everything. The car is beautiful, I'm amazed at how this turned out. At first I was like "oh jesus, look at those welds :/ Oh my, fiberglass and bondo. I'm scared for this car" to "HOLY SHITE that's incredible." Absolutely amazing work. Keep it up.
