Looks sick! The E21's have the same "problem", I might try doing it as well. Thanks for the detailed pictures!

Thanks ^
I didn't like how weak the rear coil over mount was so I added a thick flange along with a cross brace. This way I can use a nut and not have to worry about it. Still needs some work, but it's been a bitch to do with handtools and the crazy angle. Not to mention the rear brakes are right up against it. Anyways heres some pics and Happy New Years!!!

I agree, it's cool watching your skills progress along with the car. I remember when I first came across this thread and never thought it'd get to this point. I'm sure this build a big inspiration for a lot of people out there. I know I've said this several times already, but keep it up dude, this build is titties.

The whole reason I started this project is because I wanted to try it all..... get my hands dirty in every aspect of a car build. Happy to see its taking shape and people are noticing my skills getting better. I wish my little hobart welder could do more, but I'm happy with what I'm able to do at the moment.
Got hit with some nasty fog that just started rusting out all my metal. Did some serious Metalready and POR15 today/tonight.
Also for the rear coil mount I went and picked up some 1/2" grade 8 rod and nuts. Should be plenty strong and fits very snug in comparison to the original ARP 12x1.5 studs.

Oh.... My.... God....
I have a 2002 as well, and may I just say: This is fucking AWESOME!!!!
I spent my last two classes reading this thread. Totally with it, even with a test tomorrow. Ahaha xD
This makes me want to go home and start chopping up my own '02, although my vision is quite a bit different
Keep up the good work, bro. I will definitely be following this.Originally posted by BigBodyIf it doesn't look good low, it was ugly as shit in the first place.

Today was exhausting. Finished up the paint booth, picked up fittings for the gun, and gave the whole thing a quick sand and clean up. hopefully tomorrow go over it one more time with a quick clean and get my first of many coats of primer on it..... Also used eastwoods sealer for the rear fender cuts, got a little dark didn't snap any pics.
