  • I'm using an old school hobart from the 80's I believe haha. Got it for 50$ and it seems to be doing ok with everything I have tossed at it. Anyways thanks for all the comments everyone! A few more photos of what I accomplished today. Sorry for the crap quality it got dark quick and I was so hungry my hands were shaking .

Base plates are 1/8" and have a large surface area. I have no intention on flipping this car... The whole reason for the cage was to make the rear suspension more rigid since the window tends to explode or the coil blows through the tower, thus why I'm adding so much to it. If I do manage to flip it though this should help... I Hope!

    • Well I just read through the entire thread. I loved every minute of it. When I saw the Honda motor, I wet my pants.

            • the welds don't seem too bad in most pics... the penetration looks to be decent, just a lot of spatter around the welds and a lot of metal being put into these which is why they don't necessarily look the prettiest. but they shouldn't be any problem in the strength department.

i love how when i started following this thread when you first jumped into doing the flares up until now, you can see all the progression you have gotten in the skill department. no better way to learning and getting better at shit then doing it yourself over and over again on a project in your garage... after all that is the point of a project isn't it?

great job dude! i wish i still had the drive and determination (and time haha) that you have.. keep it up bro! excited for this!

                            • hahah thanks everyone. Jager cooler was a present. pretty fucking cool!

So last second choice on my part. Figured I might as well make the front clip/nose removable for when I do the engine swap and stuff. Almost got it done, going to finish it up in the morning
