I'm not doing the work. I'll do body work on my friends' stuff, but I'm scared to touch my own stuff. Haha It's a guy that my dad found that just did all of the body and paint work on our Chevelle! All of this is taking place right in my backyard, so it's pretty cool. My car is actually in the storage side of our shop, because the paint booth is set up in the actual 'shop'.
The car is primed, as well! I was pretty shocked to see that when I got home. Haha The bumpers still aren't done/primed, nor is the hood (since the new one hasn't arrived yet), but everything else is looking bad ass.
As for the color, it's white. It's Aston Martin. It's good.
I love seeing how such an average looking car can be turned into such a hoodrich piece of art. Why dont they make hondas like this from factory haha. Nice work man love it
Not this time! Running out of money. Haha
Plus, I don't have all of the parts I need to finish tucking everything, so once I take the motor out to rebuild it, I'll shave and paint the bay and interior.
Well that works out really well! Where are you getting the paint? Like this white?
Close! It's Morning Frost White.
Here's some updates, as well! He unmasked everything and started sanding everything and such today. The hood is still supposed to arrive on Wednesday. The front bumper is shaved, but I forgot to upload that pic. Haha Next time!
Things were pretty slow for a bit while my paint and body guy was away, but now my car is in our booth, EXTREMELY close to paint. It may even be painted before next week, but probably not. The hood is a nightmare...
My chalkboarded hood fit great, but almost every spot weld for the supports on the underside was broken. Sooo I ordered a brand new, CAPA certified hood for $300. It was packaged beyond all reason, but there was still a dent in it. Gay, but after restoring cars with my dad and doing body work, I know better than to expect a brand new panel to be perfect right out of the box. So after the body work was done, emblem and washer nozzles shaved, bottom painted, and the top primed, he went to test fit it. That's where I decided that I would've been better off lighting $300 on fire. It fit terribly...
He worked on it for hours to get it about where it needs to be, but I'm faaar too picky to use that hood unless he works a miracle on it. So, I might use my old hood with the fucked supports, or my dad might try to find a good one tomorrow, since I simply have no time. Either way, I'm going to have to buy a hood straight from Honda at some point. What a waste...
Cliff notes: New hood sucks dick and wasted my money, like a dumb whore. CAPA test fits hoods blindfolded. Car will be pretty like a princess soon.
Let me just say HOLY SHIT. I absolutely LOVE the color. Just wait until I get some pictures in the sun. Of course it still needs to wait for the wetsanding and buffing, plus a few new exterior trim pieces I went ahead and ordered, but it's extremely close to scavenging the pavement again.
