Im just starting out and starting to build my collection. I think my next purchase will be a Nikkor 35mm f/ 1.8. Does anyone have any recommendations?

For anyone looking for a good bag, I picked up a Manfrotto Agile V Sling. It's pretty sweet. I'd say if I were able to do it again I'd get one of the next sizes up, there's 3 sizes total, the V being the smallest. Anyhow, fits my 60D, 24-70, 50mm 1.8, and 10-22, plus a flash, 3 batteries, an LED light (I do video mostly) and some other odds and ends. It's comfy, ergonomic, and was reasonably priced.

Here's a link to the big one.

That's it for now - come september, I'll be getting a 55-250 IS, which seems like quite a good investment in the lower price segment.

In time I'll probably be investing in some lighting stuff also.
    what did you pay for?

    Just a dinosaur myself...

    Cameras:
    SLRs:
    Nikon F3HP
    Nikon F3
    Nikon N90s
    Nikon F2 DP2
    Nikon F

    Rangefinders:

    Olympus 35RC
    Yashica Electro 35 GT
Kiev 2, 2A and 4 They are russian clones of the pre-war contax cameras. The Kiev 2 is from 1948 and is actually just a contax with the Kiev name plate.
Zorki 3, 3M and an early 4. These are russian copies of the barnack style leicas.
    FED 3

    Medium Format
Pentax 645(down for repairs right now)

    Lenses:
    24mm 2.8
    50 1.4
55 micro nikkor (unfortunately the 3.5 and not the 2.8)
    80-200 2.8

Yes, I shoot film... I know, I am a dinosaur. I do own a Pro-am digi cam, a minolta DImage A2 8 meg. Shoots very nicely for what I use it for.

My main sidearm is a Panasonic P2 800 with a Fuji 7.8 to 137. So I work with digital all day and when I am shooting for fun, I shoot film.

Eventually, I will move up to digital, most likely Nikon so that I can use the few lenses I still have, albeit in a modified form. I know is the way of the future, but there is something to be said for an early post-war carl ziess, a sonnar or even some of my nikkor lenses
