You don't have to spend 1200 on a set of real wheels, you can buy some for $300 and probably even less. I paid $500 for 100% brand new looking 15x7 Kosei K1s with 80% tread Falken Azenis RT-615s (some of the best tires you can buy for 15"). Spend an hour looking at the CORRECT websites for wheels and you will find REAL wheels for CHEAPER than your Failmaxxes.

I didn't read this whole thread so my response is based merely off what I saw on the first page.

It seems you've all run into the inherent problem with any relatively new scene or group. We have countless incredibly nice cars here, but we don't all start out with something perfect. Most of the cars you see as cheaply modded or fake are done that way because it's the best the owner can afford at the time.

I know where you're coming from, Sean, and I myself have got to the point where I just sigh to myself every time I see a car with so much potential sitting at stock height on some XXRs with the "EURO STRETCH LOOK" tire package and 16 miles of wheelgap.

What do you think you'd say if some new member posted this pic and asked for suggestions?


Obviously your car has risen to the top since Bimmerfest 2008, but it took time. The majority of people here are probably 25 or younger, which happens to be the most broke-ass age group around. I know it gets tiring to "give 'em a break" over and over again, but rather than drawing negative attention to such a thing I think we should still at least offer some photos for inspiration or something.

You never know how far someone will come given enough time and inspiration.

I mean this is the most snobby, douchey way possible when I say that stance is an acquired taste. It comes with time, and I think that's what we should keep in mind every time we start spouting off about a car that doesn't yet meet our standards.
