How do I tell if they are raw? or Is that only the selvage ones that are?

I have worn jeans that have been in the hundreds per pair and $30 per pair. I will admit lucky jeans are extremely comfortable, but not worth the price. The best fitting jeans are the ones that fit well after walking around in them for an hour or so.

Yes. Bought a pair of 501 dark wash recently. Fit was off when I tried them on, bought them anyway. They are slowly becoming my favorite pair

What kind of fit do you normally wear? And how much do you want to spend?

A relaxed fit, but not bootcut. like 175ish. I was looking at the levi but they werent raw jeans many had been pre-washed

That's why I'm asking you guys for recommendations. I'll look in to what you recommended and try out a pair to see if I like them.

I'd get some rigid Levi's before I dove into raw denim just to see if you like how it feels.

you can get N&F, but you would be just wasting your money. there isn't really much at your price point. you can get cheaper budget denim like cheap monday, comune, levi, maybe WeSC, etc. for less than your budget, or spend a little more and get a higher quality. since it's your first pair i would just try to snag some 501's or something along those lines.

honestly, coming from ae denim, you might not even like the feel. and if you do, you won't really appreciate the quality of stuff on the higher end just yet, and could make "mistakes". no sense in going all in right away.

I have 1 pair of jeans and they are a wide leg(not flared) pair from value village. they fit over my shoes like fenders should wheels. but, they're womens. nobody makes wide leg guy's pants

No. I have only worn American Eagle jeans for the last few years because they are the most comfortable for me.

Ok. Well 150 doesn't give you many options in the world of raw denim. Unbranded is going to be your best bet. They sell them on the Urban Outfitters site.

A good substitute for not washing your jeans is to fold them and bag them. Toss them in the freezer for a day. The cold will kill all the bacteria on them. if there's about of dirt just take a damp cloth and wipe it off.

^ This, and if you need to remove any odor just hang the jeans outside for a day.
