I'd have to say the scene in general has just plateaued. PERIOD! Between the hipster's trying to be different in the wrong kind of way, just to get some sort of attention. Then you have the followers that buy a certain car and build's its specs off of some dude who's got some much internet fame his ego is way above his head and thinks there better than everyone else.

Nobody builds car's for themselves as much as they use to. Its Attention this, I'm different, feature that blah blah blah.

Don't get me wrong, there are people who do build there cars based of there personalities and ambition but its so rare you would be better finding a holographic charizard at a damn flee market.

Thought I would chime in.

Nissan scene. Specifically the 350z and S chassis kids. Everyone I know with a nissan, and everyone I have heard of in my area with a 240sx or a 350z have been sponsored through by their of so loving parent.

Their parents buy them Megan parts, then they brag about how fast they become, their parents buy them XXR's, then they fucking braaaaaaaaaaaaaag for hours about how cool they are, then they go "drifting" everywhere.

If you own a 240sx, or a 350z, you are part of the SoCal shitty drift scene, because you can rip your e brake and smash the shit out of your car.

Sorry for the rant, these kids love to brag and give the whole car scene a bad reputation and the cops around here are taking it out on all of us.

At least the Honda, BMW, and VW guys around here show some respect to one another instead of being like "do you even drift?" when the nissan guys can barely drive a manual.

I don't think the 'scene' itself is bad, no matter what car genre you're into.

Problem is nowadays, the car scene is getting flooded with the generation of kids who's parents did everything for them, buy them everything, and generally baby the shit out of them. So we're getting people who come into a scene, whine, bitch, and carry on like a bunch of fucking idiots just because they think cars are cool and all.

That's how I see it. It isn't the scene, it the people themselves.
