      I had to go out and get the inverted torx sockets to pull the tranny on the e39, but after using them, I think they are a superior bit. I was working in a very tight area and the sockets seated easily on the bolt heads and stayed much better than I would expect from a typical 6 point.

                    Not to mention most German axle nuts are 12-point as well.

                    We don't generally work on many German cars in the shop I work at, but when we do, it always seems like a cluster fuck.

                              These were on the rear brakes. I can't remember if it held the caliper to the bracket, or the bracket to the knuckle. It was a while ago. I just remember having to try and find one of these bits.
