been a long time since i did anything related to employment law...but chances are he will just make up a different reason as to why he fired you even if it was an unlawful termination. definitely worth a try though. if you have an attorney friend ask him about the specifics and he should be able to scare the dude with a letter.Originally posted by jared1988 View Postim pretty sure he cant do that

I know Texas at least is a right to work state so you can be fired for having brown hair - they DGAF. Some states are different requiring them to have a legit legal reason to fire you. You should def look into that. You might bank with a lawyer

On the phone he told me I was a good worker so he can't make up something saying it was performance related.Originally posted by Francois Dillinger View Postbeen a long time since i did anything related to employment law...but chances are he will just make up a different reason as to why he fired you even if it was an unlawful termination. definitely worth a try though. if you have an attorney friend ask him about the specifics and he should be able to scare the dude with a letter.
I have a written letter from when I was first hired stating that I would receive written and verbal warnings before termination. I received none of these.
Will be talking with him in person tomorrow and if all else fails I will speak with an family attorney friend. I believe what happened was unlawful.

I was kinda thinking that. Maybe the boss had someone backed up to fill his spot and used that as an excuse?Originally posted by jared1988 View Postim pretty sure he cant do that
Idk the pricing there, but its probably up there like Cache Creek. That's pretty sick to be that close to the casino. I'd be working there if I lived that close.Originally posted by Francois Dillinger View Posthaha, we always joke about who would actually get a room there. wayyyy over priced imo. guess it beats making a friend dd and being withing stumbling distance of the casino though lol. i'm right on the other side of the over pass lol.

i think it starts at 100/night....but that's probably on like mondays and tuesdays if it's booked way in advance. suites are thousands of dollars. i've thought about getting a job being a dealer or valet there for some extra cash. but it kinda sucks to be this close because i'm always tempted to go there when i'm bored.Originally posted by coconutt View PostIdk the pricing there, but its probably up there like Cache Creek.
