stuck at work for another 2 hrs, i wana drive the datsun
need to test out if my thermo fan will switch on and off at the right temps, since i was messign around with them yesterday as i noticed temps hitting 100deg and the fans were not kicking in
ended up being a number of things as problems
corrosion on the relay conections,
corrotion on the fuse connections,
blown fuse,
pot resistor set too high
i've cleaned up all the connections and replaced the fuse, which blew again, so i upped it to a 20A fuse from a 15A, then i noticed that the relay is a 40A relay, so i might upgrade to a 40A fuse, as i'm not sure what the max current electric thermo fans can draw.
got the fans working but wasn't able to get them to switch off coz the car was already hot, but i got the temps down from 100deg at idle to about 75-80deg at idle in less then a couple of mins.
