so you spend more than $100 on a pair of jeans?
damn
I think they're generally around $70 if memory serves me correctly. So it's like $70-$90 compared to $30-$40. That's why aussies love their op shops (read: thrift store).
When I was 17 I found a pair of jeans for $30. I was so fucking happy you don't even know. Why were they $30? The shop was closing down.
And it does matter cause compared to what people in other countries pay, you've got nothing on them.
I have a beat to shit pair of Calvin Klein khakis I do all my car work in, perhaps the most comfortable way to work.
I can usually be seen in track pants.... and thats really about all. I have a shitty pair of jeans for when I go 'out' and need to get into a place that has a 'dress code', but they were like $40... I thought even that was too expensive.

I have like 8 pairs of junk pants and about 5 pairs of junk shorts
lol
I have a few other pairs of sweat pants I work in, and I have a few pairs of basketball shorts as well. But thats when I KNOW I will be doing shit. So many times I end up under with no plans to, so having "work" clothes almost always just goes out the window.

You paid for your own jeans at the age of 17?
No this discussion was only about comparative costs in the US not about how well we have it. So it be like if someone spent $800 on a pair of jeans in Aus. vs $80.

Aside from my work slacks all my pants are fine to get dirty and usually do.
Shoes however, Im very picky about what shoes I will work on a car in. I have about 30 pairs of shoes and only 2 of them can be worn while working on cars.
