60s and 70s muscle cars suck to drive. Driven several making upwards of 700+ and yeah it was fun to mash the go pedal. But you cant see shit out the front or rear to well and turning them pssh forget it.

You're crazy if you don't think muscle cars are fun to drive. Yeah they suck if you're trying to go fast and take turns, but they are fun as fuck to drive around town! Plus you just feel cool.

I really like the GT86/FRS/BRZ and am not usually a fan of new cars. Will be keen on an Nissan S16 but I'm afraid they'll do something similar to the 86 route like a few of the other manufacturers..

I would have said that five years ago or more, but after the new Beetle came out and the Dart, they both drive smooth. And the new beetle looks nice and the dart, is just a bit different...between that, theres very few cars id say id own

This. I've owned a few and still own a 70 Cougar with a built 351c. It takes way too much money in suspension to make them handle well. I'm not saying it isn't worth it... In a straight line though mine is fun, but it isn't a stock car. Either way I have a blast driving it.

I've owned so many different kinds of cars that I feel like I can say this... You all are arguing about hamburgers and hot dogs here. People are going to feel different ways about driving different cars. Some more closed minded than others, but it comes down to opinion and personal preferences. The argument that old cars are better just because they are old and have character though? Come on now... I can see that maybe when comparing a classic Ferrari to a new Kia, but not every new car should be written off as a loss just because you've driven one or two and you didn't feel "connected". The joy I get from driving my old ass Mercedes is cool and all, but then I hop in my FRS it's one of the best handling cars I've ever driven. It's an absolute blast to drive and 10x more fun than any 240 or old muscle car I've ever owned. But hey, that's my opinion. I'll forever love the style of old classics over most new cars, but no reason to bash on new cars because they are more advanced than what you drive. That's like saying I **** super models because my girlfriend has hair in her back fat rolls...

New cars suck. Sure I might not be able to afford one now.... But I have plenty friends with e90's e92's e46m the new 135 I also drove.... My other buddy has a e55 all great cars but would I put my self in a hole just to feel good about my self! NOPE! And Shea is right it seems that newer cars drive them selfs.... I actually like the slight wheel vibration on 80+ mph in my 27 year old car! And I like the fact that I see my engine when I open up my hood. I like changing my own oil w no reset bs involved in the cars comp. Like dealer crap! I also like that I can change my own oil for under 40 Bucks and takes about 20 min only..... Try removing plastic bs for 20mins just to get to your filter! LOL



And cheaper parts are a plus... Used/refurbished parts are even a bigger plus! I just like the feel of older cars.....






Now my car has a fresh rebuild and actually moves.....With that being said I have a pretty functional older car that I do truly love.... I don't know I just love pulling out a Dipstick to check my oil less shit to fail in the long run!

bone stock most of the old "muscle cars" were pretty slow turds, ill give you that. but who leaves one stock other than the old grampies that keep them in a climate controlled garage?

They are fun cause you get eyeball fucked by most everybody on the road. I have driven my moms 65 t-bird, several 67-71 camaros, 65 mustang, 71 mustang, 70 challenger and a 63 vette. The vette was the easiest and funnest to drive. Everything else just sucked when I am trying to navigate the backroads that I live on. Hell anything bigger than a civic sucks to drive where I am at.

I love when I see guys that are under 25 saying they'd never drive a new car....well if you can't even afford a new car, I don't really think that's a valid argument lol.

i bought my first brand new car when i was 18 (no co-signer), 2007 honda civic Si sedan. I paid it off in under 4 years, and gave it to my sister to drive to college (she totaled it 4 months later).

I bought another brand new car when i was 22 (again, no-cosigner). 2010 silverado, i kept it until february of this year, and i sold it with just under 50k miles for more than i owed on it.

both cars were great, but there were far too many electronic things to work with. i like being able to bolt on parts and feel the performance increase immediately, without being FORCED to re-tune/re-flash

Will i buy another brand new car? highly unlikely.
Older cars are easier to mod, less complicated to work on, and its easier to find low cost (not cheap) quality parts.


The insurance is much cheaper on an older car, especially since you don't need full coverage.
