....once upon a time there was a japanese man with one cool ass ->rear wheel driven<- car...he was on his way back home...he was a bit speedy and suddenly a curve appears from nowhere...he jerked the wheel violently and applied the e-brake...he was -> loosing control<-....a mysterious voice told him to shift down, rev the engine, snap the clutch and adjust his steer angle slightly...then, he got his -> rear wheel driven<- car under control....either he invented drifting at this point or he was just as lucky as you were...

Hell I drift on the streets, but I do it in isolated areas where there are no other cars or people.
