They arent even really dents, just big gashes in the metal that arent all the way through.

I thought people pay a good amount of money for things like this in original condition even beat up and used. Does it not fall under the "don't polish an antique rusted gun" kind of thing?

Does it come with a lid? I don't know anything about these. So I don't know if they even came with a lid originally. Interested in seeing how this turns out non the less.

yeah its better to leave it tarnished and patina'd with the dents then to just sand and repaint it with the dents/gash's still there. Pretty much most of the Value is gone down the drain doing it this way. Its cool if you just want to keep it though. Love these old coke coolers

He already ruined the patina, though.

Would've been so much better to just refurbish the inside and leave the outside as-was, maybe with a coat of 2k satin clear for durability.

Better is completely relative.

If i wanted it patina, i wouldve kept it patina.

i have the corners, lid handle, and the longer handle that attaches to the side if thats what you mean. and it has a bottle opener on the side but its masked.
