  • so... are all GF, wifes this oblivious?

so... i was at fiance's house yesterday and she said to me... "my car has this weird ticking noise" so i went out, popped the hood of her e36 and started it up... the noise would increse rpm, so i looked it all over... belts, pulleys, ect.. i could hear what sounded like a vac leak from around the intake mani.. so i closed the hood and told her i would fix it when i had a little more time.. (keep in mind this is a 92 325 with over 240k mi on it..so it does make its fair share of squeeks and rattles)

we where back inside and i was thinking about it.. i asked her.. "when was the last time you checked your oil?"

and all i got back was a blank stare...

so i went back out.. pulled the stick... nothing... got the jug of oil out of the shed put a quart in.. nothing.. another one.. nothing.. 3rd one.. just now on the stick..

    4 QUARTS LOW!

anybody else have storys like this? LOL

My mother does this to her Land Rover. SMH. Poor truck would be dead if it wasn't for me.

This is a case of improper pussy control. I blame you for not having the built in 6th sense to bug her ass every 3 months as a reminder.

              Jus sayin

I don't know about girlfrends but my mom is this way haha.

                examples:

"Why do I get shitty gas mileage?"
-drives her Jeep Liberty at 80mph and brakes lates, takes off hard, etc.

"Why do my brakes squeak and make that noise?"
-doesn't understand rolling or the concept of coasting, always gasses up even to a red light and brakes hard to stop

"Why does my car run so weirdly and make funny noises?"
-went over 6000+ miles without an oil change

                She's a funny one

I keep wanting to listen to your reasoning here, but I can't past your spelling of "wifes." It's wives bro, wives is the plural of wife...

My question is, If the car was tapping off its head, Why did you check pulleys and belts?

A loose pulley or worn bearing could make a persistent ticking or rattle that varies with engine speed.

i thought maybe a pulley bearing or maybe a frayed belt contacting something as it spins.
