Also imo at 9% it doesnt taste like beer anymore.
I prefer wheat beers with ~ 4.5% alcohol.
Yeah they are pretty tall. I hear ya about the ABV, it's pretty strong but that's why I like it. I don't drink it all the time, just special occasions or when I wanna get trashed QUICK!

With Pavel on this one, nothing like a cold Belgian-style wheat beer.

Local brewery makes this one, 4.7% of alcohol, but the subtle twists of orange and coriander hides it well. My favorite beer right now

Anything higher then 7% tends to be darker beers like stouts, porters, barley wines, sometimes belgians. I have to slightly disagree about the taste though. There are some very smooth; cremie beers around 8-9%. Milk Stout and Coffee Porter come to mind, from Left Hand Brewing and Real Ale, respectively.

Though lately I've been stuck on bluemoon as my go to beer since Im broke and trying to buy a car

            It's a really great beer.
Do you think a Specs Liquor store would carry it? Im not sure what liquor stores are across the country... all we have are specs and copperfield around here in Houston.

*After drinking one, I can feel it =)

Now that I think of it, I think it is only released during Holiday seasons.
It's nice to have one after a meal and feel like you've been out drinking for a while lol!

Aged Sparkling Ale. Tasty brew indeed.
              Cheap. Fast. Reliable. Choose two.

Forgot to mention this. Picked two up around Christmas, to have during New Years and as a present for my girlfriend. It's a beer brewed in the style of a champagne by Sam Adams of all people. It was very crisp, and highly carbonated. Interesting hoppy taste, but still had a bit of a champagne flavor. Almost apple-like. $20 for a bottle, and from what I understand its not even made anymore (since it vanished from stores) - but was pretty epic to pop open for New Years eve.

Another I'm sure I've mention in the random thread before; Avery Brewing's "The Beast".

Probably the highest alcohol content beer I've found @ 17.5% ABV. I've let a few of my non beer drinking friends try it and their only response is a "less harsh jack daniels flavor". To me, it's caramel, toffee, raisins, and alcohol. You can definitely taste the alcohol in this one, but its not a bad experience. If you're into extreme beers it rocks, but it's also $10 a bottom for a 12oz. Not a beer you're gonna drink nightly. Perhaps on special occasions.

What kind of cups are you guys using? I only have a Chimay goblet (which I replaced a small brand snifter with, because I couldnt find a good beer glas at the time for the dark beers I love), and a Pilsner glass for beers like Blue Moon and wheats.

In case you haven't noticed, I like my beers darker than the back of Forest Whitaker's neck.
One of my Favorite Stouts of all time, blows I can't get it in my state! Have you tried Old Rasputin Russian Stout?

Ohhh, the best beer in the world! But i'm so sad. Because there is no shop in my homeland, where i can buy this beer. At least, the city where i lived in Italy, there i could buy it from every store

Cheap ain't badass, badass ain't cheap.

For those of you who are in Australia and like beer, you will most likely be familiar with James Squire. Not sure if you folk from the US can get it but if you ever are given the opportunity to taste it, I suggest you snap it up!
