You know what, I retract my previous statement. I withhold my opinion until there is solid video evidence, because animal rights activists will make up crazy shit and band-wagon while on the other spectrum, anti-law enforcement will make crazy shit up and band-wagon. video or bust; it's sad, but most people's word can't be trusted anymore because people fabricate stories for their own support now a days.

Look at the date stamp on that report.

And I found 3 easy typo's reading the description. There could be even more, I was never good at spelling.

This has nothing to do with ****** or loving cops, or whether this is worse that another act that a cop performed. It has to do with one fucking dumbass shooting a dog for no reason. I would feel the exact same way if it was just some bystander that killed the dog. I'm getting tired of reading about people trying to show their power by mistreating animals. No animal deserves to be treated this way. Pit bulls only have a bad reputation because of retarded people who raise and train them to fight. I've owned pits my entire life and in my opinion they are the best dogs in the world. People need to take a step back and take a look at the human race for once instead of blaming everything on animals when something goes wrong.

This. Obviously the cop did something very wrong here and there is some truth to the story. He def should be punished, but I just cannot believe that someone would take this dramatic of actions on a dog that was barking.

while I agree, i'll throw this out there. you opened up dialogue about cops behavior in general by stating "If this is where our country is headed, I don't want to live here anymore."

personally, it doesn't take an animal killing for me to realize "where this country is heading." thats a pretty general statement which includes all the wrongs of this country as a whole. its going to include the obvious police brutality of this story, whether its an animal or a human being....and that incites the cop ****** discussions.

I'd more say it incites **** in terrible human beings as opposed to just cops. It wasn't necessarily aimed at the 'big bad cop', it was aimed at the dickhead who was armed and murdered a dog, and quite brutally at that.

Exactly. I never said anything abut "if this is where law enforcement in this country is headed..." I'm simply talking about people in general mistreating animals.

Absolutely dispicable. Like has been mentioned, I think the cop should get the same punishment that he gave the dog.

This type of shit makes me sick. I don't care what your opinion is on Police this type of action is unacceptable. And the fact that officer Fike was a k-9 officer makes it even worse.

So the correct way to "handle" the situation was to choke and crush the dog within an inch of its life with your full body weight. Let's see, the officer weighs probably between 180 - 200 lbs and the dog probably weighed what 60 - 70 lbs. Yeah seems about right let me put my whole weight into it's neck/back of head. That'll surely calm it down. Then let me pull its leg up and around that's good.

And what was his reasoning to throw the dog over a railing to the concrete? What the fuck is proper about that? That alone is inexcusable. If that were a human suspect what would happen if a cop threw someone over a rail down a story to a concrete pad below. I know what would happen. We'd have a rich criminal who's case would probably be thrown out along with having an undeniable law suit.

But it was a pit bull so I'm sure that's how they're supposed to "handle" that situation.

What's obvious? A mixed up bunch of stories from people who saw part of the event.

I'm playing devil's advocate here, but why do none of you believe the police report over the eye witness stories? They're equally valid to someone who was not there at all and has no idea what really happened. The police report sounds perfectly believable behaviour for an excited (not necessarily dangerous, but you never know) dog. I have to deal with other peoples' animals at work on an almost daily basis, and they are not predictable, so you can't take chances.

Also, one article said Parrot was a shar-pei mix (which it definitely looks more like) not a pure pit bull. I doubt that had much to do with anything anyways.
