I'm playing devil's advocate here, but why do none of you believe the police report over the eye witness stories? They're equally valid to someone who was not there at all and has no idea what really happened. The police report sounds perfectly believable behaviour for an excited (not necessarily dangerous, but you never know) dog. I have to deal with other peoples' animals at work on an almost daily basis, and they are not predictable, so you can't take chances.

Also, one article said Parrot was a shar-pei mix (which it definitely looks more like) not a pure pit bull. I doubt that had much to do with anything anyways.
I don't care how unpredictable an animal is. There is NO excuse for actions like this. Throwing a dog down a flight of stairs and then shooting it multiple times because it barked at another dog? You can't be serious dude. Even if it was posing a serious danger, this still wouldn't be the correct way to handle it.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that a cop would perform these actions when you hear about every day people doing dumb shit all the time? Also, why is an police report supposed to be any more believable than an eye whiteness report? Isn't that why whitenesses are used in trials every day?

That happened about 20 min. south of me. So sad, I am a bleeding heart animal lover and ***** to see that. I heard that a lion was running towards a cop and the cop unloaded 2 clips on it. The lion died 7 feet from him. All here say but in that situation I'd shoot it too. A giraffe though, not so much.

Jack Hanna was PISSED he wanted to round up them all and take them to the Zoo with him. But you gotta do what you gotta do I guess, no one wants a 50 dangerous animals running around.

That's not what happened according to the report. The report says the dog was biting, and charged back up the stairs.

Well, yeah, it pretty much would be. Mace won't stop a dog that is set on attacking, and it would have been put down afterwards anyways.

It's not. Nor should it be less, that's my point.

I'm not saying what did or did not happen, or if either was right. But hardly anybody is being objective about it.

Every eyewitness report says that the dog never charged back up the stairs. That it got up and was stunned by the fall. So you're going to believe ONE police report over multiple witnesses just because it's a cop writing it.

And it's obvious by the picture that the dog was already retained, so why would it be necessary to murder it?

Once again, throwing the dog down stairs and then shooting it MULTIPLE times was in no way the right way to handle this, or any other situation. One shot to a dog is enough to put it down in the event that it is proposing great danger to other people.

How anyone can advocate for throwing the dog down the stairs is beyond me. I can understand shooting it more than throwing it down some fucking stairs. Come on now.

Like I said on the first page
Last I heard this cop was on forced leave and was under investigation for possible charges.
Now that doesn't usually indicate wrong doing for a normal citizen but for a cop that means the shit just hit the fan for this guy.
