By top 800 he means the top 800 times on that track for cars in C Class.

Classes are measured by PI, or performance index.

The car we're using is C class, PI 366. The most PI you can have is 425 in C Class.... meaning we're in the top 800 times, and there are cars with a good bit more power/such above us...

I can never save my money long enough to e able to afford the F1 cars in GT4

The minolta ain't an F1 car. It's a group C race car. You win it in the game.
How can you not save up the money? I had about 25.000.000 when I stopped playing and had every car worth having. Easiest pay out is driving the amalfi coast race over and over in the alternative surface races. Get winnings and sell car for and easy 400-500.000 iirc.

I think I had 100% of the game beat after six months. The driver challenges are the worst tho. Specially the one with the SLR at ze Ring.

But I've never liked that track, and I'm bored with the car by now, so won't be going back to improve.
