Would you trust your car on a 1000 mile trip?

Saw this thread over on bf.c and wondered how you guys would respond, especially those with the slammed cars.

Basically would you trust your car for a 1000 mile road trip, right now? And if not, why not? Is it something mechanical, or would you just need to raise it a little bit, or something along those lines?

Personally, I've driven the E30 900+ miles in a day already this year and plan to stick over 1000 miles on her over Thanksgiving break, with 1000 coming the first Friday-Sunday.

Easily, I did a trip 1,500 mile trip.

300 miles? Maybe. 900 miles? Nope.

I don't trust it to make it that far without something epic breaking. I'm sure it could make it 900 miles, just as long as there is no stand-still traffic. It has a habit of overheating when it sits still idling for too long.

I'm sure if I checked the fluids, made sure proper air was in the tires, and gave it a once over, it would go cross country without problem. I just don't have enough faith in it.

The accord would make it. Haha, I had to drive it 10 miles at a pretty steady 5000rpms I'm sure she can handle 1000 normal miles. My back my be broken after. But we'd get there.

I figured Rusty would have something to say about this. Weren't there some overheating problems though? Or did I imagine that?

mechanically my car is near perfect, so no issues there, it just be a stressful ride thanks to the oil pans height.

Yessir I would. She would (and does) annoy me every mile but other than a terrible ride and lots of noise from the shocks there's nothing wrong.

Four months ago I drove from Minnesota, to Maryland. And in seven more I'll make the trip back.

I've driven my car 5000 miles in the last month and absolutely no problems, I'd drive from washington to florida and back if I had the time and money.

My 82 and 97 Benzo's and my 71 Bug yes, without hesitation. My 99 Suzuki, absoletely not.
