I happened upon one of his old posts in a resurrected build thread and was like "huh, wonder what happened there..."

Back from the dead! (Discovered this trying to find out why Vegas got banned... Found at least part of my answer.)

Driving down to H20i 2011, I passed a big Italian guy in a GS400 and happened to downshift on my way by as we approached traffic. As it clears, I see the GS come flying up behind me and get in the passing lane. As he passes slowly by, the driver was giving me an emphatic thumbs-up and yelling to me "SHIT'S FUCKIN' HOT, BRO! THAT LOOKS NICE!!!" I dropped to 3rd at about 60 and took off for him for a short bit and slowed back down. As he went back by, I saw his thumb up out the sunroof.

Just after I lowered the car, I took it to the Ocean Beach Car Show here in CT. As I was stopped at a light, three big, inked guys walk up the sidewalk and stop next to my car. I was in a rough area, so I got a bit nervous with the windows down. One of them says to the others "shit looks dope for a Focus" and they just walk away. I was pretty pumped.

At H20i 2011, I was following Cosworthed in his grey Focus ZX3 on DPEs through the outcast meet at the Convention Center. I hear a chick yelling to her boyfriend "THEY'RE FOCUSES? THOSE ARE FUCKING FOCUSES? NO WAY!!!"

In my old Volvo (99 S80) I had it lowered on some 18" Enkeis (noob mistake), but I drove past this local independent Volvo shop and proceeded to see pretty much all of the techs come running over to the open doors and just stand there as I sat in traffic then rolled off. I was bangin some Mike Jones with 3" straight pipe and probably scraped some ground as i turned the corner. I lol'd.

Driving home on the last day of winter semester 2010 I was cruising to my parents place on Highway 4 in Concord, CA. I was probably doing about 65mph, not going hella fast or anything. Two guys in a 5.0 Fox slowly passed me and the passenger took either video or photos on his phone for a good 3-4 minutes. It That was cool.

I was taking my GF out to ice cream a couple of weeks back on a Sunday night. Pulled into a parking spot across the street from the restaurant, got out of the car, and noticed that a car was creeping passed. Passenger gave me a thumbs up and they drove away.

Those are pretty much my only two stories relating to my car, I guess I have some work to do LOL.

Each and every time that I am riding in my friend's '68 Charger, we get so many stares and thumbs up. The car:

I'm willing to bet those dudes were disliking and not appreciating. Everyone looks when I drive by. Young people eat it up but the older guys/dads with clean rides can't stand me or my modding style although there are a few exceptions. But yeah most people that look are just thinking what an idiot when I come scraping by. Breaking necks regardless, I guess.

If you're not dumped on the ground disregard what I said.

My favorite moment neck breaking moment was in my e28 was when it was on the ACS and I was driving down a two lane road in the right lane. An SUV drives by and the rear window is down, and there is a kid who was probably 8-9 years old. He has his head out the window and the biggest smile on his face and is just staring at my car and doesn't look away for the whole 20-30 seconds they are beside us before I turn.

Mike was riding passenger at the time and we had a discussion about how that kids life was affected. The kid has no idea what type of car I have, no idea what was done to it that caused him to be so attracted to it, all he knows is that he now wants a cool car like that. I would like to think he will now be into cars. Felt good man.
I've had something similar happen to me.

I was driving the Touring with my then current GF in the passenger seat. Just cruising slowly along. I let off the gas and just coast to the next red light. GF says: "Hey, look, there!" and points towards the sidewalk. There's two little boys standing there, around 10 years old I think. One of them is looking mildly interested, the other one... he just stopped and stared at us, completely in awe (at least that's what it looked like, lol) with this big, silly grin.

    Another memorable experience was this:
I was on the Autobahn, coasting in the right lane at around 110 km/h. It was a three lane stretch. Suddenly, an E36 sedan goes by on the left lane, going around ~160, 170. Car looks a bit cheaply modded, ebay lights, window tint etc. He gets a bit in front, switches to the middle lane and just SLAMS on the brakes until he's near even with me. I look over and there's these two kids, around 18yrs old, inside, staring at my car with their mouths open and the passenger is capturing it with his cell phone. I like to think I changed the direction of their modding ways that day, haha.

I have caused 2 wrecks I know of in my BMWs.

You just dont see shit like mine around here. Everyone owns trucks, mustangs, and GTOs. There are a few of us, but we are the extreme minority.

As we are leaving I get a call asking if I could drive my friend home and they were where the busses are, I say sure why not, completely forgetting that there are mountains they call speed bumps in the bus loop. So I pull up and and my friend gets in, I have yet to negotiate the 2 mountains at this point. A few people are looking saying that my car was really low, blah blah blah. Anyway, we set off, now there are 3 people in my car, so its even lower than usual (love you ebay suspenion -_-), and we are coming up to the bumps. First bump I scrape HARD, no matter how much angle I got it would not have mattered (short but stupid high bumps), at this point at least 50 people are staring at me, cause the next bump is even bigger. So we get to that, I go over, the car just sits down on the bump right after my front wheels go over, I nail it and finally the fronts catch enough and pull us the rest of the way over (not before making a ton of smoke), right next to the school principal, and about 300 other people.

I couldn't help but smile the entire time, one of the best experiences driving ever. My brother tells me that kids still talk about it to this day. And this was in my lameass Integra.
