why are you asking a question like this on a site that is obviously biased?
if you honestly care enough, just go ask them. i'm sure they'll tell you exactly how they feel, rather than just sitting here guessing and then simply dismissing it as ******.

this site is called stanceworks, and this topic has been far played.

Lumis, I realise this has been around for a while. You could say it started in the 80s with mini truckers. But only in the past couple of years has it gotten big.

I guess it's more of a phase than fad, like punk rock for example, which started in the 70s, but didn't really get a whole lot of popularity till the late 80s/early 90s. Now it's not nearly as popular, people still like it, but its not something you hear about in the music scene very much anymore... a phase. Something new will come along one day, as happens with everything.

      Shit, now I'm rambling.

I just want to say a few things in my own behalf,
I don't respond to those people that don't like something I do, I love having a nice fitment, the next guy might think its pointless. Thats fine, I don't stir up shit. I came here to talk about it with you guys! The people that love stance as much as I do... thats all. Truth be known - a thread with this title anywhere but here would instantly be turned into a shit show.

I didn't say "******" one time in my original post.

To those who say "why do you care what other people say", The problem is not what they are saying it is their negative attitude. I am too much of a peaceful person to ever want to radiate that type of energy. Do they feel that there is only one way to modify a vehicle? Thats just crazy talk.

I just wanted to start an intelligent conversation about change. Its hard for most people to handle. Something new and especially if it is a bit controversial! Our tires are too small for our wheels!!! Oh No! No but really, I wanted to discuss the mental behind the those that can't except something different.

I'm not the super freak that looses sleep over what some body else posted on the web. Thats just being over the top.

Ollie & Moose thanks for your posts.

For the same reason people on here don't like cars that are at stock height. At the end of the day, who cares though? Do your own thing and leave it at that. Back when poke and stretch was predominantly on VWs, all of us VW guys got shit from people in other scenes but continued to do it anyway bc we liked the style and it caught on. No reason to get worked up over what other people think

For me, with my S2000 people on the s2000 forums would give me crap left and right for building a car that was not worthy bc it wasnt done for a track style. Since the car is so great and magical it can ONLY be for tracks... but what did i do? just keep posting up there with titles saying I wonder how many people i will bug, Lets see how many guys disagree, or my fav one i did OMG SUPER TRACK MONSTER!

Either way everyone will have a different approach or opinion. Some love the idea of stance but dislike the idea of stickers on our windows. Some compare our car to low riders.. Either way as long as we're happy and proud to drive our cars, no one will come close to understanding it from the outside world.

                      simple...

when the majority of the people in the world see "stanced" cars, their brain interprets it as this...

in all honesty, i still dont understand the whole "stanced" thing...

flush and lowered is one thing, some of the stance works out there is just straight out stupid... thats my opinion

Theres just certain cars that you can stance and be accepted. Lets take sedans for example. You take a non performance oriented car like a camry/corolla. Modding it to make it look like a "sports car" would be stupid, but if you do the whole vip thing, it would make somewhat acceptable. If you have a kia, theres no point going vin diesel fast and furious on it because its stupid. But if you go stance on it, people will go "hmm, interesting"

Now, take a high performance exotic car like a ferrari, if you slam the shit out of it and put some rediculous camber on it, you just made enzo ferrari facepalm himself wherever he is. Same with corvettes, lambos, s2ks, etc.

Stanceworks is gay and full of homos that ruin what their cars were designed for.

                              Fuck you all.

                                .
More like the 30's and 40's with hot rodders and rat rodders. People have been stretching tires forever too, things die down and then come back in new shapes and forms, just like everything else.

Back on topic, I don't get the whole idea of stance either, it takes away function, cost money, and ruins parts pre-maturely... but I fucking love the way it looks, always have always will. Its that easy. I give stock car lovers, purist, and ricer car lovers shit, and I'm sure they don't understand why. Oh well, without diversity the world would suck, and everyone has an opinion.
