    • updated list of cars, less than three weeks away. May have to find a different spot if this list exceeds 50 because that means 60+ on the day of...

edit: does anyone know if we could park cars in the lot to the west of the museum? The one I'm referring to has a few buses in it if you click this link:

      • Doesn't seem like there is a good lot in the city for 50+ peoples. Brasstown bald is a bit of a drive and off the beaten path but it is quite scenic and mountainous. The lot is fucking huge too and I doubt it will be a problematic since it is a public attraction. Every time i've been there on mountain runs only four or five cars were parked there. The museum looks smaller everyday i look at this thread lol. The drive from the museum to the bald says 20 miles about 30 or 40 minutes.

Yeah I don't believe there's anything actually in those buildings. The bigger lot looks good. Let's shoot for that.

We can use the lot as the meet up spot to drive up to Brasstown if we get kicked out or if it gets too crazy.

          • Considering Helen will be mostly VAG on Saturday, and since I'm guessing a decent portion of people bringing cars to this BMW meetup won't mind skipping most of the day, is their interest in driving to the Tail of the Dragon/Deal's Gap near the TN border on Saturday morning and arriving back for this meetup at 2pm?

Regardless, I think I will be going so let me know if you want to join in the morning, leaving Helen around 8am; the road is ~2hrs away each way

I'm only going up for Saturday and possibly staying Saturday night. So I won't be doing the drive but I'll be at the meet at 2. What if the drive was done Sunday morning?

                  • I think we should leave the meet where its at. I have a feeling a lot of people will forget about the meet. either to drunk to drive or lost track of time.

                    • You guys that are planning on driving the Tail of the Dragon, I do have to warn you that on a nice day and especially on the weekends, that road is an absolute all out clusterfuck. And a massive bust, as the posted speed limit is something like 30 mph and the police enforce it very strictly.

I will more than likely be sleeping in on Saturday morning.

                      • There are other fun roads in the area that are less patrolled/crowded that we could do instead

                          • I would suggest Richard B Russell which is just to the west of Helen and is a great driving road. Not sure how busy it is going to be as I have only ever done it during the middle of the week when everyone is at work/school.

You do know the tail is like 4-5 hrs from Helen.
