I heard about them trying to restrict BMWs this year on Bf.C ATL. WTF. I was planning on coming anyway so I'm down for this.
I think they are just reserving the show and surrounding area to VAG on saturday. I agree it's pretty stupid because I don't even know where the complaints are coming from; its more of a low german car show than a VAG show nowadays imo... it will be nice to have a high density of BMW's in one spot though
I pulled that from the official website so as far as I'm concerned it's the most up to date... I agree it's idiotic though, especially when they are claiming it will help with troublemakers. On average, I think the non-VAG cars are built to a higher standard because there are less of them, quality>quantity, and people who care more about their cars are usually more likely to behave well imo.
It's the idiotic 17 year olds with stickerbombed mk4s on racelands and longbeaches who need to leave Helen alone...
17year old in mk4s...might as well be ricer kids. They shouldnt be shuning other euro makes; especially bmw's. I believe i was told last year a reason being roundel reunion wasnt going through because there already was a "euro show".
I thought it was generally understood that big events like H20i and SoWo had grown into Euro/low shows in general, but with the official show remaining rightfully VAG. Why you wouldn't want variety and other quality builds is beyond me.
I messaged back & forth with the SoWo organizer today & the map with the purple area is old. There will be no non-VAG euro parking made available on Edelweiss Strasse or the show grounds. While we obviously feel their exclusion of the non-VAG Euro family is ridiculous, there isn't much we can say to it since it is "thier" show. At the end of the day I don't really care to have my car parked in the field, espeically if it is wet out at some point & the awards they offer mean absolutley nothing to me. Any well done car will recieve its deserved noteriety via the bazillion photogs that will be in attendance & just having the opportuninty to share Mr. Farnsworth with the masses in a Euro setting will be fun for me.
The founder of Watercooled Society said he has no problem sending a photographer with us to cover the Inglorious Bastards meet. He is polling them to see who wants to do it & will get back to me.
I'm looking forward to this meet the most in terms of cars I want to see over the weekend. This is getting pretty big now too, seeker411 do you know if the auto buggy museum is okay with a bunch of cars? I'll try to call them soon regardless
