added them to the list, thanks for your help gathering people.
in general, would anyone be interested in getting lunch, or would you rather meet at the bear park lot? I think it would be nice to sit down and look at cars while eating outdoors if possible. just a thought
With possibly 20 cars and as many people (if not more), it's going to be hard finding a place in Helen that can seat all of us and have a lot big enough for us to park in, especially if SoWo does in fact wind up being bigger than last year.
I just remembered there's another place we could do the meet that may work better for photos than the bear park lot. The Alpine Antique Auto and Buggy Museum lot at 64 Escowee Drive in Helen was where Justin Hallock shot a few photos of ODB last year. The river is literally across the street and there's a small picnic area there that could work for shots. Google Earth it and see what you think.

I'm all for that, looks like a nice place. Ridge Road looks like a nice one for a cruise if people wanted to do something like that, it's close by.
I know last year we had an event page set up on FB, and someone had posted up on Vortex/Bf.c/etc about it. You wanna spread the word?
Also, with that picnic area there I'm sure we could bring our own food and drinks without an issue.
I posted it on Bfc under rides and events, but I don't go there too often so I'm not sure if that's where it'd be most visible... I also think there will be cars and people that will come and never post here that we should factor in. Bringing our own food and eating at the tables would be great though.
anyone should feel free to distribute this thread around other forums I guess, the more the merrier
Made a facebook page for the meet. I didn't see a date posted in this thread, so I put in Saturday at 2:00 PM, since I figure that's when the most people will be attending SoWo. Here's the link.
brasstown bald?? they got a big parking lot and grills if I remember. could have a good old fashion cook out if they do. ill cater to as many people as I can if they got grills. im like top chef up in this mofo.
We could do it there, but I like the idea of having the meet within the town limits of Helen. That way people can easily return to their hotels, to the main show, or get a bite to eat in town. Especially since we're doing this meet the day of the actual show.

I agree that it would be nice to be closer to the town center, but if we have a big enough group it might be worth going to a different spot within a 5 minute range or something, let's just not set anything in stone yet.
If anyone wants to post a picture or two of what they are bringing, go for it. or keep it a secret, up to you.
Or we could all meet up at the lot at 2, then cruise up to Brasstown Bald around 3:30 - 4:00 so J Work and others can grill. Because honestly around 1:00 on Saturday I'm completely done with seeing a bunch of mk5s on air and RSs...
