Bought this truck back in April off craigslist for $620.
1992 GMC Sonoma 2.8L 5spd 2wd, 336k on the odometer and it's allegedly on it's 3rd engine. When I bought it, it was extremely rough. Now, 8 months later, its just really rough!
A brief summary of the issues:
Blown shocks, bald tires, blown rag joint, bucket seats not even bolted to the floor, auto parts shift knob slipped onto cut shift rod, tons of wiring issues, and lots of cosmetic stuff. I keep finding more and more wrong with it, but so far everything is easily fixable and I've been enjoying having a project to spend good weather working on, and I've been learning a lot. I hope to have this truck competing in the 2013 Grass Roots Motorsports Challenge.
When I bought it:
Spent a couple bucks on some spray paint:
Painted a shark mouth in a hurry one day, and took the bumper off to check out why it hung weird. Turns out the frame rail/bumper mounts were broken, re-welded and broken AGAIN.
Next I took these off:
Added some lowering spings that are definitely NOT V6 3" drop springs (maybe 4cyl springs, they are super soft and bottom out and bounce) 3" drop blocks and a set of 16x7 et0 Cragar soft 8's with 215/65-16:
Added a "smoothie" front bumper (stock without the rub strip, maybe from a '85ish model)
Still not hung right, going to re-weld the mounts at some point but at least it's on.
Replaced worn out door pins and installed door spring:
Finally took some pics with a camera:
And the redneck that owns it:
Took it sliding (I don't call it drifting yet, but clutch kicking will break the open diff'd rear sideways.) today for the 5th time or so, took a crummy vid:

Still shopping for more lowering parts, the plan is to have a 6/7 drop or lower possibly and then the ridiculous wheels which are currently collecting dust. The daily: 2009 Honda Fit Sport
Buddy Club N+ Coil Overs
Rota D2 17x8.5 et48f et40r after 8mm spacer
Honda Accord dual exhaust tips
Blacked out headlights, tinted tails and fogs, painted rear bumper section.
