i REALLY want to do it right. im gonna hve to run chain in the rear like a lowrider, if i do springs from a different car.
YEs i'll admit. My springs are Cut. but only because of these reasons
Lowriders Do not use Coils from Cars. We use Coils from Train cars lol

And if we use coils from cars. Thier stock Non progressive springs.
A full stack of my coils are about 15" high. I cut them in half. Fronts are rated at 9000lb spring rate and the rears at 5000l roughly. lol

another avanue im lookin at is a "hybrid" set up. takin springs from 2 other car makers and useing them to get the stance i want. say bmw rear coils and scion tc fronts.
Ok here im going to play. and help you. #1. For rear springs and Coils Try the Cobalts. Even though your an L-Body it might work. I was going to try them on my 2nd gen Z24. but scrapped the car. For fronts use Eclipse struts and coils,. they'll need some modifications though. If you want more info let me know. im a 60degree GM car Nut. Jbody, Lbody. Nbody. Wbody. you name it i can help.

I went from stock, to Eibach Pro (1.5), to cut Eibach Pro, to Bilstein Coilovers, and now back to the cut Eibachs.

My back now hurts, your car floats. When the gears switch, i feel the car move back to a reverse rake.

Not easy with a Bonneville either. There is zero aftermarket for the suspension.

After some junkyarding and other research I'm on home made coilovers up front made from AGXs off another car, and coilsprings.com custom rear springs with air assist shocks.

lowrideing started in the early 30's . look it up . everything you see with lowered cars and the mods you do were started by lowrider guys back in the 30's.

this is why i do my own thing and own a non popular car. i had a 03 LS Cavalier that was modded and lowered on lowering springs. i go more for looks then hp or any kinda perfomance. as long as it looks good who cares how fast it is

And Foose is still producing extremely ugly cars and terrible wheels.

not a easy thing with the L body car. but atleast the corsicas are the same and i think the early grand ams.

im picking up a set of mini cooper springs for 50 bucks, they should work pretty well on the car.

my struts and ball joint arent effecting the car at all, not fluid on the struts so itll still pass. the ball joint is a easy deal since i can get a whole control arm w/ joint for 75 bucks from rockauto.

the car is still a on going project. i got alot more to go on it, but who cares. either way itll be laid low weither on springs or a fully modded air ride set up , its just the tiral and error stages now , nothing set in stone

Get one out, measure, go to junkyard, find the same diameter, put in pocket, leave.

Edit- or just leave the nut on when you beat it out with a mini sledge to protect the threads.

It's really not that complicated to take apart old rusted suspension. PITA maybe but not complicated.
