In short, sounds like you need new coils

I'd be keen to see a picture of how low your car is userix, sounds like it's on the ground

Here are some pics. It's a good 3" off the ground, not even close to slam. The fronts are pretty much maxed (one thread from the bottom). I know I can remove the helper spring and bumpstop to get it lower, but wouldn't I run the risk of bottoming out the front shock now? The rear is completely maxed with the perch still in.

              Something doesnt look right.
Its hella high for being maxed out on any coils.

Oh lol. Fronts will rest the bumper on The ground with 17s. Rears will tuck 17s easy. By far the best option for e46s and amazing ride quality.

See? That's what I don't understand. Why is it so high even at max drop? I checked everything. the shocks are installed correctly, they are all from the KW v2 kit, nothing is mix'n'match. The rear perch is turned all the way down to allow the lowest drop. I don't understand why my car only sits this low at max?? As for the rear, is it because I am riding on the bumpstops? With BC coils, are there required bumpstops for the rear shocks? It's driving my crazy trying to figure out why it's not going lower. Any slammed e46s out there, let me know how you guys are doing it.

yea, that doesnt look right... i had KW V2s on my e46 M3 and i was slammed and still had about 1" left on my fronts and nothing left in the rear

thanks for all the info, im still scouting out some coils depending on the wheel set up. car needs some minor cosmetic work, but im pumped for the first 5 series ill be doing

here are some pics of my E46 M3 for reference userix.. no mods to anything, just fully spun in the rear and still plenty left up front

i wish i had bought the BC's for my e46 then instead of the Function and Form type 2's. I mean they are nice coilovers and ride great, but they just dont go low enough without buying shorter springs for them.

Here is a pic of my front setup right now, which is at the lowest setting possible:

How easy is it to remove the helper spring from the front shock? Do I have to remove the shock from the front control arm? I don't see a bumpstop present, unless it's hiding behind dust cover.

Here is the rear bumpstop that is destroyed, while on the lowest settings with my rear perch in:

Let's say I cut out the bumpstop completely, won't my shocks start banging against the rear shock mount? And even more so if I was to remove the perch assembly?

Can I remove the rear shock by only undoing the piston arm nut, or do I have to remove the whole shock mount assembly to get the shock out?

What's the average rear shock travel distance on average quality road (some bumps, minor potholes, etc)? I'm not sure what my rear spring rate is, but a ballpark figure for coilover setup. Is it more than the length of my bumpstop pictured above? Just want to get an idea if I would be banging into my RSM without the bumpstop or rear perch installed.

some of you guys have too keep in mind that just because you purchased coils doesnt mean its gonna sit the car on the ground some coils are meant for track use not fur slamming you know

What non-air/hydro options or methods can be used to obtain slammage with some driveability? Custom-made short-tube shocks and short springs? Too bad stancework coils aren't mass-produced for more cars.

Are there different types of front strut mounts that are shorter than stock? Maybe this is why my front drop on max doesn't look low at all? Here is a picture of what my front strut mount looks like (courtesy of n2bimmer; http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...9&highlight=kw)
