Haha.. I probably dislike tuck because I'm not a luxury car person.

But I just like the rim of the wheel poking out a bit with big meaty tires that looks like it means business.

Sorry Mike, I ain't tuckin' shit on my E28. Even tire gap with a little bit of poke all around is my goal. I'm fine with rake, haha.

E28s can look great that way- Austin's was one of the best there ever was... but with that said, it wouldn't suit my car at all.

Some cars look best poking, others look best tucking, and some can just go either way. For example, older vw's, miatas, e30s, s13s etc almost always looked dopest poking like crazy. I like small cars with poke. e36's for example I like best with just a bit of poke/flush but they can also pull off the tucked rear, flush front look imo because of the fenders. Same with a lot of other bmws and euros. VIPs I like to see tucking all around or poking all around. In the end there's really no cut rules to what looks better as really anything can look sick when done proper.

Touche Mike, you're right there are definitely cases where tuck > poke. What I should have said is USUALLY.

This is a toughie, but I guess i'd lean towards poke. But it really depends on the car, the style of wheel, etc etc.

Oh I totally agree. Your car is a well-done juxtaposition of different styles and ideas - it makes sense to be flush up front and tucking in the back.

Just as it made sense for Austin's car to have a very even height. One thing that always bothered me about his car was that the tires seemed a bit off to me. I think if his car had another 5-10mm of poke, it would be outrageous.

That's pretty silly. I could say the people who poke are too much of a bitch to drop it down the extra inch, no?

Again, it all depends on the car, the wheels, the style. I've probably broken and destroyed more of the underside of my car than anyone else on this forum, and I roll tucked day-in and day-out.

For me it's very important how the wheels flow with the car's fenders.

                                1. Fenders that flare outwards and have a "lip" that goes almost straight down. I like flush wheels with mild stretch the best (example: E36, E30)

                                2. Fenders that flare smoothly outwards with no or very little lip. I like it when the wheel pokes a bit (not too much though!) and the stretch continues the flow of the fender. (example: Mk4s with pulled fenders etc.)

                                3. Fenders that go straight down (example: modern Audis). Here, tuck is best, imo. Depending on the car, flush may also look very good.

But all in all I'm more a fan of the flush or slightly poked look.
