Yeah, I was planning on eventually picking up a set of basket weave Salleen wheels when I got the money.

    Thanks for the compliments!

I didnt read all the posts in this and im not here to bash. I auto-x a bit and i would seriously check the scca rules to see if those wheels are not to big for auto-x or you could possibly get bumped into a higher class with much higher powered cars. Also those look like they would be heavy so thats a consideration as well. Honestly you could have lowered the car properly for auto-x/handling situations and got a nice 15 inch rpf-1 on azenis if your wanting to keep it in the rules for your class.

In this case, tires>wheels, especially for auto-x purposes. I would much rather have a less visually appealing set of purpose built wheels than a set of wheels that looks fresh, but is not nearly as strong.

A 3" drop sounds good though, should look good and still be pretty good for auto-x. Looking forward to the progress.

It will ook good, just not dropped to the ground good.

IMO, a good set of tires> a good set of wheels for this car. It is an excellently balanced car that is terrifically fun and predictable to drive. Being a life-long gearhead and hot-rodder, I just can't bring myself to lose sight of that in the name of looks. The car may wind up about .5" lower than optimum (since my aesthetic taste leans towards low), which will put it at about 3" of drop, but that will be the worst I do to the handling. Plus, once the chassis is done, the car will handle so well, i will be able to live with the minuscule difference.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

BTW, the pics do NOT do these wheels justice. They are actually pretty concave, i just sucked at photography the other day...

Should have bout some falken 512s or something and used the rest on a dope set of wheels...
With time I'm sure this could look good but with the way you're talking I don't have much hope.
This is not aggressive at all, even if you spend 750 on tires.

Hopefully you get some coilovers or something because this desperately needs a drop.
    GL buddy!

Trust me guys; I love stance, but handling comes first for me.
