So a lot of life happened and I have not posted here in a long while. I have done many things to the car, but for now I will just leave some random pictures.
It was featured on this very site as well as making the cover of Performance BMW Magazine back in April. It was also up for PBMW's car of the year 2014. I am very happy with the response this car has received in the scene.

I check every few days, then every few weeks, then months....etc. Until I am confident that they will stay. No big deal really since i would be checking them even if they went on easy.

Thanks for the info! I had never messed with aftermarket caps, so I just wasn't sure. That would make me really nervous running those 1/4 caps then, as I have had 1 full size rs cap work its way off after almost a full season of dd'ing my car.

They are solid aluminum all the way through on the aftermarket caps. And the threads are too short for most of the 16"/17"applications which is why they didn't thread on that many complete turns.

Those Rs's look awesome, though I was a little biased to the acs's because they were so unique.
As someone who has owned Rs's, and rebuilt them, that whole pressing hard deal to get the cap to attach would make me nervous. IF I remember correctly, the plastic lower half of the stock caps that have the threads on them, can be separated from the actual hex nut itself. What I don't know is if those 1/4 caps can come apart too. If they can, swap those lower pieces so you're not fighting to thread them on the wheel! You don't want to loose one of those caps.
