I know, but I have to at least complete phase 1 of the car before I can invest in camera equipment. $100 pocket wonder for now; sorry guys.

anyone wanna shoot this car for me? PM me a quote to relieve the misery.

the fender is very dear to me. I can't do anything but let it live. it's got too much of my personality in it to let it go & a lot of forums know this roadster to be mine by that fender. it's like a signature of sorts.

besides, I'll worry more when all else is done. body comes last when building a car.

I do appreciate the feedback though.

    • i have always liked the way your car sits. the fender does give it a certain personality, just not quite the personality i like IMO. The equips though completely make up for that. I'd love me a set of staggered equip 03's. thinking 15x9 or 10 rear and 15x8 front. after law school that is lol. Anyway, car looks good!

      • His roadster is low, we got beached on a pebble once.

thumbs up to a "better" camera, but FABEL just moved up from this

        to a digital one.

        • You sir have one hilarious personality. I just read this entire thread, and was laughing the whole time. And your car certainly is low, and no one can say other wise. Can't wait to see what else you update us with
          why so impractical? because stancecar

appreciate your comments & I thoroughly agree.

the fenders personality isn't to be anything but playful. people take their cars wayy too seriously that they lose out on just enjoying what is. besides, the googly eyes bounce as you drive . . . I get pictures taken of it all the time & I think it's cool to see people smiling in our routine world.

it's simple innocent fun, just like the roadster itself & as corny as myself. I care to show that not everything's about being 'epic' or outdoing the car you park next to. I'm FABEL & I've gotta have fun or else I'm doin' it all wrong.

again appreciate your comments; that sheit matters mate. as an aside, your screen name is rather coolio - especially if you were a fireman.

thanks man! especially happy you read the entire thread. dopestep is the only other brother I know to have done so. it's a damn fairytale, but just trying to take all of you along for the journey.

best part of my thread, I have no plans for where it will go other than having fun. I'm sure it can be awkward to most, but that's just it - this is me, this is my process, & I carry no expectations for my little banger. life will give you enough responsibilities, I don't need my car to do the same.

I don't worry about all the things that make a car memorable, just that it is & that my smile remains constant well past it's length of ownership. that's a successful build to me that's hard to argue against & although there's a few things I'd like to execute better, it's all details not worth sweating over when I'd rather just shut up & scrape to see another day.

LOL, he really couldn't go any lower and actually get the car to move on a static set up.

the driveway pic, if you look at it, its flat and he scrapes 3-4 times pulling in.

                      • Most of you don't care, but let me share a few words regardless.

Miles (aka Fabel) is one of those guys that to fully understand him you have to meet him. People impose a different impression on the forums than in real life, and he's not an exception. I met Miles through one of my best friends, Kamil (aka Topazkd, also on here), on one of the local BMW meets a while ago. From there, every time I meet him I can't help but smile. He's an enthusiast with full of crazy, awesome, and out-of-the-box ideas and opinions, that dominate his personality and life style. He's a good friend, beer-buddy, and a helping hand in voyage. There is a lot more than that, but this is not to praise him, and he wouldn't like it either, so I'll stop here.

Why am I even writing this? Well, we had a good time at a local meet last weekend, had some interesting conversations about our cars and the cars there, and he shared his laugh about this thread. I told him I'll chime in, and he was more than happy about it. So, if you are wondering where is Fabel coming from, or why does he do "crazy" things to his cars, its because he just simply wants to have fun with them and mod them to his liking. Oh, and he doen't give a damn. After all, fun is the goal here, right?

Miles, fix that fu** up fender man!

                          hey, thanks man.

it was really nice of you to share some thoughts on how people view me out in the car world, but I don't expect anyone to ever understand me. I'm glad you do & to know you had a good time as I had a great time hanging out. you have a deep passion for all things the community represents rather than just yourself or your car & I really respect that. seriously respect that.

its a shame so many people worry about doing things right or dominating over the dude they're parked next to when in reality, that's not what it's all about. life is short & if you're main goal is not to maximize your level of fun, then you're certain to lose even at the times you win.

fortunately, my car understands this & I'm serious when I say my roadster speaks to me. directly. you guys can think I'm crazy, or you can be jealous if your ride doesn't do the same, but all that I care about is that I listen to what I'm told.

wherever this car ends up is because it's EXACTLY where the two of us are meant to be. I could never fail, regardless of the directions it takes me so long as I retain our connection. I've never been so free with a car before. it feels great to know that no matter what, I'm on my level pushing boundaries & confusing the majority that see me bangin' on the earth beside them.

an example of this is in the picture below.

you see my current ride height is past low - blah blah blah, but now realize I had custom 2in. tophats made for all four corners of my chassis for some reason that makes no sense even to myself. most companies that make these don't go past 1in. & that's for the rear only.

luckily for me, my car spoke to me & said to ease up on compression while using the frame as its pure rebound. not sure how this will all work out for me - probably bad & I don't know if this has been done previously, but at least I did what I was told.

thanks to Maciek's help, plenty more will be in store before winter hits this year.

but the fender, NO! the car told me to fix that would be like reconstructing your childs facial features. besides, it enbodies the silly, happy pill poppin' trance that my roadster gives my everyday I scrape on down the streets.
