what motor are you gonna be swapping into it? just another m30b34 or upgrade to the b35 from the e34's. my friend just finished doing this with his e28. of course 2 weeks after his whole engine blew up (upgraded cam blew apart the valvetrain)
but he put in a second b35 and loves it. the cpu is much better. nicer fuel economy, better response etc etc.
I'll be going with a B35. Initially, it will be run stock, then an MAF and 3.73 will come in. After that, I'll either build a second B34.5 hybrid (9.5:1 ~240rwhp) or pull the car off of the road and rework the B35 into one. Either way, it will be back on the road soon with 20 more horsepower, then the power will keep coming. This does, however, push back the purchases necessary to get my fitment on point.
really proper build so far, but i got two questions, since i'll be owning an e28 in the next days, too.
First, do you guys really just cut the springs in half (or 3/4, whatever)?
I really don't want to bitch around but don't you worry about crashing the car when a spring breakes for example?
I live in germany and if I brought my car to safety inspection with cut springs all around, the MOT-man would just cut my throat and let me die i guess. I'm just curious.
Second question, you painted the car yourself, didn't ya?
