I am impressed with how clean you got those shocks.

My best friend is a machinist , so he took them to the shop and put some love to them.
I am not finished though. The height regulators might need to be made from scratch. They are seized and very bad looking. Also the threads.

Bought some of this amazing product, which is a must for wheel cleaning and engine degreasing, as well as old parts. Cant recommend it enough.

Hello to all. Have a lot of things to show you, so I better start catching up to get up to speed.

First the suspension overhaul project.
After the suspension was cleaned, it was polished, and then checked to see if rebuild was needed. It wasnt needed, so we proceeded fabricating what was corroded and then protected before installing.

Like these bilstein spacers for rear shocks which were rusted externally, more than this pic

As for the suspension, i decided to protect it by lightly cleaning it with acetone, and then multiple coats of 2k clear, more than 7 coats for protection, plus to keep that raw look.

Then, if u recall, I had plans for making the window trim in a gloss black, to hide the chrome from the exterior, so I had purchased some appropriate film for the job.

Then I set about doing what all owners of old cars do I guess, clean, restore, protect and enhance old spare parts, to use them or maybe use them in the future. However, never sell.

First were the headlights, which are bixenon ones, two from the car i bought,in amazing condition for the age, just a hint of yellowing in one part where the cart was looking at a hint of sunlight while parked. I will show you in the pics what i mean. And also, a third headlight which is my old one from the 1.8T B7 that has the modification for the air intake.
The process was to clean all of them properly first, and then, wetsand them, and finally polish them. After that, store them .

RECARO Seat Mounts for the Audi A4 B7 chassis, driver and passenger, so as to mount the TILLETT seats eventually.

So these parts are front wishbones all of them, rear, and also, transmission mount, and the A/C compressor, which seemed to be running weakly during summer, so thought I should get a new one to see if it fixes that.
Also some wiper arms, which were very cost effective, and thought i'd give them a go instead of painting mine.

Then I had the brightest idea to do a "quick swap" of the wiper arms after work. The quick ended up being almost two hours. They had never been removed which is a good thing I know, however for me it was a PITA. half a bottle of wd40 didnt change things much.
it wasnt until i accepted that i had to go home and get the cleaner for bathtubs (salts' corrosion etc) that i managed to remove them almost in 5-10 minutes after spraying that. Oh well.
