first things first, one thing that (me and my back) **** is that german cars use lug bolts instead of studs, which makes wheel positioning a little pita.
So I added a stud on each corner to help that, and put a wheel lock instead of simple nut.
But, the wheel lock tool had to be tweeked a little, to accommodate the long stud.
also, I got the wheels balanced and ready to go on the car !
So, the plan is to wrap my car next weekend, but before that, some little things had to be done/fixed.
First, I wanted to delete my ac system, making the flow of air better to the main rad and also because the system needed some maintenance but aint nobody got time for that!
I dont have pictures before removing it but here is after. I still need to build some little ss brackets to hold my oil cooling lines ( held it with metal wire for the moment)
you can see that my radiator did hit the ground a couple of time
I also relocated a module that was poorly placed. I mounted it right behing the rebar
as I said, there is no picture before removing the ac hardware but any of you who knows how packed s4 b6 engine bay are will understand that making room up there is no luxury.
I had a stupid leak in my washer fluid tank since I have the car that was only caused by....an unplugged hose. so now its fixed!
while I was there I deleted the pump that was there to shoot the fluid to my rear window , but I deleted the whipper and now this rusty ol bastard is out too
the thing was so rotten I broke it in half using bare hands
As I said in the original post, the swap was 70% done. I realized that my misaligned pannels where only caused by missing bolts. A lot of them. So before I put everything back together I need to get these first.
my friend helped me wrap my fenders while they were off the car
starting to come along
on a sad note, while to car was on stands I found out that my powerstearing was leaking as *($@*(%(*@ for the second time in less than a year
on more positive note, I got these spare muffler hangers for a little something
the leak wasn't coming from my powersteering but from my steering rack. The timing is pretty s*("$* also, I had an appointment this friday to work on my exhaust and I was supposed to wrap the car this weeked.
while the car was at the garage I cleaned up my work space
when I got the car back I started to strip it
two brothers came and helped
chop chop
peekaboo
at 4h30 am we had been working straight since 14h pm and went to sleep.
wrapping a car is more of a challenge than I thought, all my respect to the proffessionals out there
still got some details to finish on the wrap ,
the job is not perfect, but once again it's my first time using this kind of product and in the end I think I did an ok job
it's looking perfect when you're standing like, err.. five feet away
first time going to school with the wrapped wagon, woke up late , parked right in front of a no parking sign and got spotted haha
also had my first bmx street session of the season and it went great found a taco bell in Montreal and ate there.
An awesome s2000 was parked there and I ended up discussing 20 minutes with the owner, from whom I learned some interesting things about a race track kinda near my home where I could benefit from a bigger circuit
first, I had to do some early morning (before school) adjustments on my new fender because it was rubbing mad and eating my tires
here is the splitter before I made some adjustments. Sadly, got no pictures yet of the result but it's so much better.
I also started to make 3 brackets out of alloy to hold my oil cooler tight.
