We had some prime weather this past end of the week. Had a cool front come through and it was perfect work outside weather

Took the little man outside with me one day. He loves hanging out in the garage with me.

I pulled the bell housing out (from an 98-02 camaro per Collins Adaptors) and gave it a good cleaning. Im still waiting on some awesome when acid cleaner to come in through work, stuff makes aluminum damn near look new, but this will do for now for cleaner handling. I picked this one up cheap as i knew it had a crack in it. Should be an easy fix. drill a hole at the end of the crack and TIG it up. FYI if anyone knows what grade aluminum this is that'd be great, so i can know what filler rod to use when welding it

After cleaning the Bellhousing i decided to through it and the adaptor on there just tp see how it would look, cuz who doesn't love mockups lol Its a shame this adaptor will never been seen, as its a lovely piece. Love me some billet cmc parts

AT this point i had to take a break and get some actual side work done, as thats whats largely funding this project at the moment. Relipped a set of weds from 19x9.5 to 19x13. They still look small next to my 18x15s, which will be shipping out shortly.

After the wheels were done i cut the stock bell housing off the CD009 trans. Im to the point from cutting up friends cars i dont even blink at eye cutting up a trans. Still not sure if thats a good or bad thing?

Anyway. It was fairly straight forward. I cut a little less than the directions said as i wanted as tight of a fit to the adaptor as possible.

If you can swap a motor into a chassis and get it running properly and work out any kinks, it gives you a solid platform to build on. I feel like 11s are quite attainable with your initial setup. Especially because it looks like you'll have plenty of tire to work with.
Yeah current tire are 275/65/15 NItto 555Rs on 15x10s. Should be enough for some good launches NA. Once turbo they will be useless. Plan is 15x12 and 28x13.5x15 slicks for turbo setup. i have zero intetnion of messing with the 10.5 small tire classes. Dont want to crutch myself in the traction department just for a certain class.

Me too. Hoping right off the bat i can run 11s. Motor should hopefully be putting down anywhere from 375-400.

And once turbo setup goes in 7-800 on the stock long block while i build a motor on the side.

Yeaaahhh, got a bit carried away with it. Part of it was i finally had my own garage to work in and i now owned two cars so i didnt have to worry about working on it and getting it driveable by a certain time when i was only building one car. Live and learn

Also fear not on the ride height. After she is up and running the next plan of action is new axles, ring and pinion, few suspension pieces and new coilovers all round. She should be 1-2'' lower from how she sits in those pics. Currently the car has some sorta sleeves and springs up front and the rear springs are 1 coil cut off (actually a good setup for drag mustangs, id leave them but i want height adjustability along with being able to adjust preload, corner balancing etc.)

Its a gorgeous piece. Its a shame it will be under the car where none will see it. And yes the bellhousing needs to be cut off the trans. That will be done in a week or two.

Ill be perfectly honest, the s13 got way outta hand. Thats the reality of the snowball effect lol

As for the mustang, ill be staying 4 link with the 8.8. Will upgrade axles and go spool, diff ring and pinion ratio etc. Its a proven setup that works, no need to switch to IRS.

As for the FR500 ill have to take a look into it, thanks for the heads up.
