Just as a bit of a warning, I'm fairly sure that titanium bolts into aluminium will cause a galvanic reaction. Usually the remedy for this is to use a anti-seize compound, however you don't want them coming apart so maybe try and find a Loctite solution that will not only keep the bolt in place but also insulate the metals from one another
Not sure what you mean by comarped to the UK?

But yes i will be looking into a solution to the galvanic corrosion. Well versed in it due to my job. We fix aluminum cars reguarly and thats a major issue to prevent with some of these cars. Like the new Ford F series trucks. They rivet alot of the aluminum panels together with these special steel rivets. They have a coating on them to prevent bare aluminum on steel contact to prevent the corrosion. There are also alot of single use bolts that go through aluminum for the same corrosion reasons.

With the rain we had pass through all day I had some more time on the garage to get to work on the other caliper. Got it all torn down and stripped.

With the calipers stripped I turned my attention to the pad keeper/aligner/things I don't know the name of. They are stainless, so some degreaser and scuff pad cleaned them up nicely. As you can see from the pics, the last person to paint these didn't take them apart and there is overspray on all the other components.

Before I got started on stripping the calipers I had a few things I needed to do. First I measured and note the bolts sizes so as to get new bolts. I found a supplier to make the in titanium so that will be pretty sweet. Should save about .75 lbs oer side all together. Getting the heads with a burnt finish so they should look pretty sweet against the metallic silver finish. I also had to out the pistons and seals out before stripping.

Ive been slaving away on stripping and cleaning the calipers. Picked up some aircraft paint stripper. Forgot how strong this stuff smelled. Glad I had the garage door open when I started to use it.

With the majority of the paint stripped it was time to turn my attention to the inner side where there was caked and built up brake dust. After these are all fresh and clean im going to feel bad mounting and using them due to all the time I have in them cleaning them lol

Bit of an update. First off I had to cancel the order on the coils, as I had something come up.

Little over a week ago, doing my typical wheel browsing I came across a hell of a deal on a set of ce28n's. Long story short 4 days later they were at my door. Specs on them are 17x7.5 +50 I know thats damn near stock specs but that suits what I'm after. If I'm correct the should poke 5mm further than stock. The best part is they weigh 7-8 lbs per corner less than stock. Which is massive.

Plan is new stickers, new paint, new center caps, and new valve stems to make them like new. I mocked them up this afternoon and they fit as expected. Inner clearance was tight as I'm running maxed out camber bolts. Outer clearance was fine. I deiced to bolt on a 25mm spacer I had, and they sat perfectly. Im not sure if I'm going to tun them or not as I have yet to decide if I'm going to do front lca's from the get go or later down the road. the lcas will allow me to increase track width and push the wheel out closer to being flush even tho they are a high offset.

And here is with the 25mm bolt on spacer mounted.the wheel was turned slightly so it looks a bit off.

I also pulled out one of my calipers to start teardown and take weight of a few things. One of my main focuses with the car is to reduce weight as much as possible, esp unsprung weight, as that has a large affect on handling and feedback.

The calipers need a full rebuild. New crossover tube, new bolts etc. Ive got a friend who is going to make the caliper bracket out of t6 aluminum for me, vs the steel they Come with, and I'm currently pricing out Titanium replacement bolts, as the current ones are not looking too hot. Weight savings should come in roughly 8 lbs total from both sides, with a massive jump in stopping power.

My wife also surprised me this past week with an early birthday present. iMac 27'' 5k computer. Ive been editing and such off her 8 year old 13.5'' macbook pro for years now for pictures. Its awesome to finally have a decent large screen to edit on. This also means I can try my hand at a bit of video. The MacBook wouldn't run any video software as it has so much shit on it.

    Thanks man!

The first piece of my suspension puzzle are ordered, Tein Flex Z's with EDFC kit. Once those are in i will measure the shock shaft diameter so i can order the correct air cup kit. I cant fucking wait to have full dampening and height adjust ability at my fingertips in the cabin. At the same time as the full install ill also be redoing my center console and integrating the height and dampening adjustment controllers in a neat and nicely OEM like setup.

Im slowly slightly regretting getting the suede, but at the same time i still think i would like it more than the leather version. It gets humid and hot as balls here so my hands sweat easy and i feel like the leather would become slippery in comparison to the suede. Worse case if the suede wears down to a bad point ill just pick up another. Hopefully by then ill have another daily and it wont be driven so much commuter miles.
