But its not. I know of the technician working on the car, hes a competent guy. The issue is subarus process's. They have thrown parts at the car with no fix in sight. In addition to now the FSE being pushed back a 3rd time to hes now not suppose to be here till the 27th.

Im not "giving up" as trust me id love to keep the car, but given the circumstances we have been dealt it doesnt make a whole lot of sense for us to retain the car. I am by no means going to suck the life out of my hobby, the car i get next wont be some bland 4 door granny car. I tried driving a stock silverado everyday, it didnt work for me, too damn boring, thats what led me to purchasing this car.

Confident you can make it work. You're so invested, man.

Bit up an update. I have been emailing back and forth with a representative from SOA (Subaru of America). Essentially explaining my extreme frustration with this whole ordeal, with the date for the FSE to come out and look at my car being pushed back twice now. Ive inquired several times in our email exchange regarding recourse or compensation for the time my car has been at the dealer, 4 months now. As i have been paying my note and insurance for 4 months. I also asked at what point is an alternative solution considered after throwing so many parts at my car to attempt to fix it. Both questions have not gotten any sort of clear answer. The best ive gotten is once the vehicle is repaired correctly they will "review what options may be available". In short saying once your cars fixed and you pick it up THEN we will consider it, which gives me absolutely zero leverage against them if i pick the car up.

Anyway, the wife and i have discussed it in great length the situation and what to do about it. We both ultimately came to the conclusion even if they repair the car correctly and its returned to me regardless of any sort of compensation we will either be selling or trading it in. I dont exactly have alot of trust in that the issue can be fully resolved. My original plan before the issues started were once it was paid off to buy a large 4 door to daily and have the brz as a toy. Well with all thats happened and what not the new plan is to just offload the brz and pick up a big luxury 4 door daily.

It kills me to get rid of the brz as i LOVE the chassis and how it drives, but this whole process has left an extremely sour taste in my mouth and i cant shake it. All the parts i have colected over the last 2 years are for sale. If you are interested in something shoot me a private message. I have all the parts listed in a bunch of facebook groups, and dont really plan ok listing them in the forums unless im unable to sell a few things.

Hit up the BAR. You don't want your shop to be associated with that service manager anyway.

On topic, I know most clear coated carbon pieces tend to yellow over time. Raw carbon looks cool, but is more difficult to maintain over matched paint. Either way you go, it's going to look great though.
It gets better. "yeah the FSE will be out early next week to inspect your vehicle" this was last thursday. Just called for an update, being that it is now the later part of the week. " he wont be to us until late next week........"

If the carbon yellows over time, then it wasn't coated properly.

I dont believe this to be a technician issue. More so a process issue. When they tore down my motor and found the warped cylinder, and again at this time they were not sure what was causing the misfire, they should have inspected EVERYTHING taken off the motor and measured etc. They would have found the damage in the head sooner, and reduced parts wait time by 1.5 weeks. And then this whole PCM issue. Firstly they were sent the non-updated version, add 3 days more waiting for parts. THEN once the correct pcm is in and they keys are malfunctioning for whatever reason, its taken them over a week to go over the subaru diagnoses procedures for this particular issue, which i find to be a bit lengthy. However i have never performed diagnoses for a dealer per their engineering dialogue.

At this point i was told thursday of last week if the technician wasnt able to find the issue per the diagnosis procedures from the engineers they will have to fly an engineer out to try to find the issue. Ive yet to call to see if an engineer has made it/on their way.

    Car.is.still.at.dealer.

Apparently there is an issue with the keys now after replacing the pcm. Supposedly a engineer is suppose to be flying out early this week to inspect and diagnose. Hoping and praying he figures out this issue. This is getting ridiculous. its over 3 months now its been there....

ANYWAYS, picked up a set of seibon dry carbon fenders. Found them BNIB for a good deal and couldnt pass them up. Carbon weave looks to be fairly well done. Too bad they will be painted and unseen. Oh well. #weightreduction
