  • Started working on my buddies Sti with the flare install. got cheeky and decided to throw my wheel on and see how ridiculous it looked. Just incase anyone was wondering, this is what an 18x15 -61 on a sti with Karlton flares looks like haha, just a wee bit of poke.

Also made the AT&T bars with some tires. 245s, 295s,and 335s.

This also gave me a chance to see what the same size brakes i will be using with my wheels. They fill them up quite nicely.

        • Wow you're doing an amazing job.

Congratulations on your son. Here's some parenting advice, parent how you want to parent. Most people try to scare you about being a dad, with horror stories & such. (I'm sure your girl & you have heard much during the pregnancy) Just do you're own thing no matter how many people tell you you shouldn't be doing it that way. In the end he's your son, not there's. If you wanna hold him all the time & not use a stroller, do it. Seems like you have a good father already, so you know kinda how you wanna be and know what it's like. Some of us were not as lucky, so we have to strive to be that imaginary dad we always wanted. Good luck dude & keep banging this shit out

You both replied at 12:53, 12 hours apart. This is tripping me out.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words man. My wife and i are pretty set in how we want to raise our child, so others influence doesnt really affect us. We both had good parents growing so i feel as if we have a pretty good idea on how to raise him. However it would be naive of us to ignore all advice and suggestions.

We both realize most new parents are over critical over the smallest details and stress out over everything. My wife and i are both chill and laid back and dont really get stressd out by much. Honestly parenting thus far is fairly simple. when he cries he either is hungry, a dirty diaper, or he doesnt feel well. Just have to pay attention to what kinda cry it is to figure out. really not that hard and nothing to stress over.

              • sweet build. cant wait to see how the aero works out and how much steering angle u will have with the steamrollers up front. I'm getting annoyed with my 235s rubbing.

The offset of the wheels is close to the same inset as a 9.5 +22. So steering angle really should be a problem. As for aero I've got some big ideas and theories I'm going to be doing so hopefully it all works well in the end.

                    • Small update. Seat finally came in.

Initail mock up of it and the pedal box that just arrived today. I got the underfoot 3 pedal from Tilton. Basically the underfoot portion means the master cylinders bolt to the rear of the assembly and are under your feet. requiring the use of a small false floor for your feet to rest on.

This allows maximum forward mounting position for optimal comfort placement, which is good, because i dont think i would have had room of rate typical front mounted master cylinders. I mean could have made it work, but i would have had to serioulsy hack up the seat mounting to get it back several more inches, but then i would have ran out of room to mount the battery, oil canister, air cup tank and compressor, and such that will be right behind the seats.

After initial mock i still can lower the seat about 1'' form blindly feeling the space between the floor and seat. I also need to move the seat back about 1-1.5'' for one to make it more comfortable and two so the seat clears the factory seat mounting brace. The latter isn't that big an issue as i can cut and shut it, which i have outlined if i need to, but i feel moving the seat back that amount will gain the clearance.

With these few changes the seat will be seating as far back and as low as i feel comfortable given my current hardware, and i feel it shall fit the bill perfectly.

The Recaro RS-GE is AWESOME. Initial comfort is great, little tight at a 34" waist but perfectly suited for the insane driving this car will have. Quality is GREAT, as expected with recaro. Supposedly it weighs right at 8 lbs. I totally believe it. Its SUPER light. Sometime this week i will be weighing the bare seat in my small scale and seeing the actual weight.

The Street faction seat brackets are also great. Super low mounting, good quality, everything lines up perfectly. Same can't be said for my previous Planted brackets....

And lastly the Tilton Pedal box. OMG they are awesome. super crazy infinitely adjustable. Superb build quality, and they look fucking awesome.

Anyway, enough of me blabbing. Here are a few pictures.

                      • I see the pedals do not have cylinders on them but I have to ask.. did you play with them?

I am very curious of the ankle effort on floor mounted pedals. for real.

Not yet no, i have no need for them just yet. But once im ready to mount the heel plate ill mount them up. AS for pedal effort, the gas pedal feels about like a bmw pedal. Firm but not overly stiff. Im hoping i can soften it up a bit. As for clutch and brake. LIke you said no cylinders so they are literally just flopping around right now lol.

There are SO many adjustments on the pedals its not even funny. tonight or tomorrow i will take some close up shots to show the amount of variation and adjust-ability they have. The pedal ratios, height, side to side space. ALL of it is adjustable.
