might i suggest having the exhaust actually come out of the fenders out of the top corner area by the window? kinda like how the old war planes have it

My opinion is highly irrelevant but here it goes.
If the car ends up looking anything like that I think the exhaust pipes are a wrong move, it has a lot of potential, just make them ITBs if you really want sharp objects protruding bodywork.

its nothing to do with fitting? its to do with budget and bang for buck and I happen to like V8's and as this engine was dirt cheap ticks both boxes for me!Originally posted by keenan View Postthis seems interesting!!!!! but why did you go with the 2jz instead? i feel like it would fit better

So in for updates on this thing. This ticks all the boxes for me - classic car, scratch build, V8, on-the-cheap and lots of photos. Keep it up dude, don't give up on this thing!

Thanks guys,
Got the box section today so can repair the chassis and make the new shock mounts, and mod the existing towers to clear the alternator etc.
Also got some new bushes and bolts coming, and been busy sandblasting the suspension parts. They had more rust than the Titanic!

All I can say is wow. Freaking cool, never heard of one of these. Sucks getting yourself with the tool, could have been back quick! Glad it wasn't serious. In for the updates!

Yeah its cool to build these projects but the laws keep changing and one day this stuff will be stopped!
just ordered some new metal box section for the chassis repairs, and a remote oil filter takeoff for the 1UZFE engine.

man I really dig stuff like this. The whole "I can do whatever the fuck I want" mentality must be such a god damn relief.that's a mad bummer man. done the same thing with the same tool.Originally posted by V8-ESPRITS3 View PostI had a pretty scary day yesterday just nicked an artery in my arm and had blood coming out like a fountain! was just using a hammer and chisel and the chisel just hit my arm when it fell out of my hand? very small cut but looked really horrible at the moment in time! I don't like the sight of my own blood and nearly passed out........all fine now after a couple of hours with a bandage wrapped around it stopped bleeding and looking at my arm now its hard to see how such a small cut could have caused so much blood!

Flipping the bottom mounts lowers the car 3 inches, so just had to raise the top mount 3 inches to match. That’s a nice easy 3 inch drop for free! Still plenty of work to do, may also have to raise the rack and anti-roll bar mounts.
The damper top mounts also have to be raised, but all looks straight forward to do.
Interesting view inside the towers after the top mount was cut off.
I plan to fit the top damper mount on some box section and slide it inside the tower this will be bolted and welded. Most of the jobs kind of get worked out on the fly as they unfold and find solutions when you see want you have to work with…..
