I have always wanted a 944. I bought a low milage very clean car just a little under a year ago. The plan was to mod it slowly as I focus on my Audi build...
I started by drilling the front bumper shocks so that it could be pushed in closer to flush and threw a set of 30mm spacers in the rear.

The cars use a torsion bar system in the rear, so lowering it without a fight is a chore. Simply adjusting the bars is not a very fun job, and results in a saggy soft ride. Mine is an early version of the car, which was produced before suspension updates. This means there are no rear coilover options on the market. Custom fabricated brackets welded to the trailing arms and a set of universal qa1 coilovers were my method to make it happen.

I have been happy with the ride and height. I started looking for the perfect set of wheels. Something that matched the era of the car. I found a set, but the fitment was far from right. I have been fighting to find wheel halves that fit the centers, but haven't had any luck. I finally decided to have a custom set made. I'm still waiting for that to happen. I'll post them once they show up.
This happened last week.

Swapping a pan out in these things is a huge pain in the ass. The motor wasn't damaged at all, but I am sick of how under powered it is. Since the pan swap requires nearly the entire front end to be disassembled and motor to nearly be removed to swap it, I decided to do something a little different. I removed the motor completely and will not put it back in.
I have decided to swap a VW 16vT in. I started on adapting the Vw motor to the Porsche drivetrain yesterday, and should have it mounted by this weekend. I will post picture of how once it's in.
