I got a new shift knob yesterday and i got stuck on a speedbump today with my dad in the car and he thought it was stupid that I lowered my car enough to cause problems on speedbumps
I have to make sure there aren't any speed bumps at my dorm first. I already know I can't get into the parking lot where the starbucks on campus is without blocking traffic while someone pulls my car off the speed bump
I can't really do much on my car while I'm down at school, but I sat in the parking lot and added some more polish to my wheels over the weekend
Also I built a 3 piece wheel in my 3d modelling class today. I'm pretty proud of it considering I've only been taking that class for 4 weeks. In a couple weeks I get to start 3d printing things though
I went to pick up some big ass 330ci calipers today. The guy gave me the rotors too but they're pretty beat so I'm just gonna get new rotors. If the junkyard near by still has the 325ci there this weekend, hopefully I'll get rear calipers from that meaning I'll have new 315mm front rotors and 294mm rear along with new pads in a few weeks
One of my ballasts went out so I had to order new ones. I don't have them mounted yet, but I'll get around to that when I have time. The lights seem to warm up faster now
what kind of enormous speedbump you got over there for you to get stuck on it? Car is looking great! classic look. Loving the hardtop
it's a pretty normal speedbump, but it's right at the top of an incline at the entrance, so it seems twice as big. Whoever thought you need a speed bump there was an idiot
If there is a god, I'm pretty sure he laughs at my misfortune.
I bought 330ci front brakes and 328ci rear brakes to upgrade since I was changing them all anyway and my brakes were squeaking a lot. Before I did it, I read every single post anyone made about this brake swap and everyone said it was really straightforward.
Not for me
never for me
they don't fit. They rub the bolts like crazy, so I ground down the caliper a little but I don't have a proper grinder, so I blew through like three bits on my dremel and it wasn't enough. So now it's sitting in my driveway, undriveable, until maybe Thursday when my 5mm spacers come in. I had to put my spare on just to roll it around the driveway and the lines are new too so there's no fluid in that side
Maybe I'll try out the rear ones tomorrow to make sure I don't have the same problem. I shouldn't because they're smaller, but it would be just my luck
Edit: I forgot the best part, only the rear brakes are squeaking and the front brake pads look almost brand new, so I could have just replaced my rear pads and called it a day. Fuck me right.
It was my first time bleeding brakes so it's got me a little paranoid, but the pedal feels a little softer than before. I was told it would be softer with this upgrade unless I upgraded to the m3 master cylinder, so maybe I don't need to worry. I'll see how it goes after a couple more drives when the brakes are really broken in
